Did YOU fly today??

Managed to get 5 flights in on the 500 yesterday evening. I was trying to get my inverted hovers lower and work on my pitch control. I started to flip lower but my pitch control needs some work. Also need to adjust the V-Bar settings a little, I think I put too much agility in. Here is a video of the better hovers, sorry about the quality had to use my DSLR on a tripod.

Please comment good or bad and tips

Just came home after flying the 500. Seven packs, all in all practicing inverted hover plus inverted circuits counter clockwise. I was expecting to hit the deck a few times and a few times recovered it [emoji5]. That 30 mins everynight of sim is paying off. For the second time, 6hv did not came out of the car (back up heli to discharge lipos). Home with intact helis.[emoji2][emoji2][emoji2]

Had another great evenings flying with 5 packs through the 500 and 1 with the Goblin.

I had adjusted the V-Bar settings for the 500 to reduce the head gain and it seems to have calmed the heli down and made it less "nervous". I think I have got the heli set up just right for me. I managed 5 good, 2 minute ish, inverted hovers and got as low as a metre off the crops on a few. On the last one I managed to do some crop cutting! The tail is also spot on and my circuits/lazy 8's are starting to improve too.

Was only a quick "brush" but it made my evening.

I'm also happy with the V-Bar set up on the Goblin. This was the first full flight and I managed 6min 10 sec with 28% left in the pack. I even got an inverted hover below 5 metres and it just sat there with minor corrections. All I have to do now is start transferring the moves from the 500 up to the Goblin.

What is your gain set at for both machines ? I was playing with the setup on my trex 500 today and found that 75 was a perfect gain setting.

The gain for the 500 is 72 on the slider. I think this is just above the trex 500 mark. The goblin is on the recommended setting for a 90 size heli. I think that is 90. Once I get home I will post up some screen shots for you.

Here you go, the head gain is 62 not 72. Once I've read up on bank switching I might try and get this a little higher but for now its good for me.

Probably the most fun I've ever had with the helis today. Went to Hook with Tim and Stuart & didn't really want to fly as it was so bloody windy(25mph+, I'm guessing). Coupled with the fact that I have had less than 10 flights in the last 3 odd months. Glad I did though . My first proper flights with the X4, after fitting a BL500MX motor and 18t pinion. Head speed IU2= 2900 :O. this thing is a ballistic missile now!! Dunno what they're called, but doing turns with only collective and cyclic, pulling back on cyclic and adding full collective mid turn down wind, amazing blade farts. I scared the bejazzes out of myself, truth be known hahaha! Nearly lost it several times, but it's soooo nippy and reactive, it saved itself I reckon. First time I've had a 7200BX and I'm a definite fan!

E5 was pretty damn good fun as always, but I think it's been relegated to 2nd favourite after the way the X4 performed! Still an amazing heli to fly, but even that was being thrown around by the wind, not that it was too bothered. It just gets on and does what you ask of it. If you've never had one, add it to your list, you won't be disappointed!

16 flights in total today. Almost can't believe it myself given that the weather forecast suggested there would be no chance of any flying at all. I got 4 flights on the 550e and one on the 700e before 8am and the first thunderstorms of the day, 4 more on the 550e & 3 on the 700e between 4pm & 6pm (rain started just as I got home). Recharged the 550e's batteries whilst eating & watching the F1 qualifying, then flew 4 more times.

Its so handy having a flying club field 5 mins up the road.

Only 3 on the 700 though, need more packs but absolutely loving it. Can't stop smiling whilst flying it :-)
