Just had a look at the Turbulance. Interesting. Lots of plastic but seemed well made in all the right places (CNC main gear for a start!). I didnt think Hirobo were still big players in the heli market these days? Has anyone flown/owned one. Its refreshing to see a different design.

In the 'pallatable' price range I'd say 700. The main gear stripping is a problem though.
As Aidi says, a 50 size nitro may give you more stick time. I love my 50 and 90 for different reasons but both allow me to progress.
Not at all, the 700 is my favourite !
Align is probly best for availibility and cost of spares.
Although im still not rulling out the 600/50 nitro.Mike

No need to go to a 90 to fly decent 3D. As you already have a 600E a 600N would be a much better choice.
Buying a 90 is the easy part.
A 90 will likely hold you back rather than accelerate the learning curve.
Fuel..around 6 flights a gallon against 10-12 on a 50.
90..Is Intimadating. Crashes heavier. Is more costly to maintain/repair. Needs better starting equipment, needs high quality radio equipment, less forgiving when you make mistakes. Not as agile.

time to get the plastic outOriginally posted by t-rex pedro View PostIn that case you wont be disappointed with the 700. As Rob says, easy and cheap to repair after a dirt nap!!

I love my 700 but please do bare in mind the main gear issue. Other than that its great and I truly believe its helping me progress. Saying that, its great fun going back to the 50 as it feels so small and light and you really feel more confident going between the two if that makes sense??!!!Originally posted by maderdog_1024 View Posttime to get the plastic out

Have fun with whatever you choose. Post up your new purchase for us to see!!

from what i've been told it flies extremly wellOriginally posted by t-rex pedro View PostJust had a look at the Turbulance. Interesting. but they do own them and have paid out their cash so it isn't that much of a suprise them telling me this
but i've only ever seen pictures of it and i only know the pilots from another forum
but knowing how well my freya flies and that the turbulence is based around the freya but very updated it should fly well
back to the 700
many will tell you how well it flies and i will strongly agree to this but my problem with the 700 is the quality (or lack of it) is very poor
it is a good heli spoilt by lack of testing/rushing it out on sale to soon
this may have been caused partly by us the customer wanting to get our hands on it
maybe avant got it right by making everybody wait so long for the aurrora ????Hirobo Turbulence D3

Apologies for going off-thread a bit but how does the Raptor 60 perform as a sport flyer? I love the look of the Raptor 90 but am put off by the thirst of the machine, so would a Raptor 60 have the same good looks and solid flying characteristics with a compromise on overall power and a more sensible fuel consumption?

That sounds about right, the Raptors are very stable machines, depending upon setup and the 60 weighs not much less than the 90 so is okay for sport flying. The OS70 is a popular motor for the Raptor 60.Originally posted by Si Goodchild View PostApologies for going off-thread a bit but how does the Raptor 60 perform as a sport flyer? i phoned a heli friend and he pointed out that i already have a 600e so i would be nuts to get a 700 as parts are interchangeable from the 600e to 600n, blades, shafts etc.....
so i think i will go for a 600 super pro.Mike
