i have to admit, i hovered my trex250 in the front room to see if it needed trimming, not idled up, just a 0-65% throttle curve, but did manage to do 3batterys!!!! lol!!!! flew my cx2 in the house, go up the stairs, down the hall, but only when im all alone, never if any1 else is in!!! lol!! did spool up my 500 to check the tracking, but was at zero pitch so she werent going anywhere!!!! lol!! and the g5!! lol

I can hover my Trex 450 in the conservatory (5m x 3m) for as long as I need, but its not fun (can't do anymore than hover), so I don't bother unless its for a test fly when its too dark outside. I wouldn't with a 500! Maybe ;o)

Only ever powered my B400 up indoors to track the blades and setup. But then it was FIRMLY secured to the ground. First time I spooled up, I realised it would be a bad idea to even attempt to fly in a confined space with lots of fragile and expensive objects and possibly people.

I think I calculated the blade tip to be around 240mph too - at a guess. That could do some serious damage!

walkera 4#3b fly it indoors although I havent really touched it since I got my blade, I only spool up the blade 400 indoors if Im checking blade tracking and I usually do it with me holding the heli at arms length so it cant go anywhere. mostly I set it up in the garden though its not often it gets spooled up inside.

I set all the little'un's up indors... 450 and smaller. But to be honest there is not enough space to get anything other than a very short hover with most of them because they make too much dirty air in a confined space.... (sort of 3m x 3m ish) ..... Nitros are for fields ....

Seeing that 90 spooled up like that is just crazy.
Even with a world class pilot you can still have a mechanical faliure or a radio glitch. Seeing some of the holes helis have dug into the ground on a crash makes you realise how dangerous they are.

I am an indoor only flyer at the moment as I only have my 4#3B.
The 4#3B is pretty harmless, ive crashed into myself a few times and it does sting a bit but I dont think you could hurt yourself unless it flew into your eye or something.
Im still cautious when other people are around, so far I have asked that any spectators stay behind me.
I can fly the 4#3B close to me and pick out of the air with my hand and im quite confident doing this, if I mess it up and end up with a sore hand it will be my own stupid fault

When I get a bigger heli I will fix it to the garden table if I need to spool it up to check anything, but my garden will be too small to even hover in, plus there is a pond.

Took my CX3 outside this weekend with the Seahawk body on it - tiny breeze... fell out of the sky (rubbish!)... I really, really want to fly it in a decent sized hall!

Well, I've flown my Lama 4 (Co-ax) a lot in my (large) dining room, and when learning nose-in, it bit me. Even something that small hurts, trust me.
