sounds good then, maybe they will re re release the blueray disc to make the whole film 2.35 when the set are out and more common?

I have had a 40" HD LCD for some time now, looking to upgrade as soon these new 2.35 comes out, just not quite sure when that will be?

    anyway, enjoy

my next purchase will be the new 21:9 TV's coming out soon, no more black lines on Widescreen flims

although bigger blacks lines at the sides on 4:3 TV lol

anyone know when these babies will hit the uk?

      Simon
your making the assumption that all directors will use 21:9 to film in. every director has their own taste. the lines are here to stay no matter the TV imo unless the directors agree to disagree and standardise it.

      cheers

Fair enough, but i would still prefer 21:9 if possible, then NO black lines on top and bottom of 16:9 and 21:9 film.... just at the sides lol

Im sorry to dissapoint but im 99% sure that F1 wont be in HD this year, at least not on the BBC. Unless something has changed recently.

no, the official word is it's not but rumoured shortly. time scales involved who knows. i would think it would come quickly, time will tell.

as for the black lines, my widescreen only has lines at the top, not sides. if you have that then your tv is setup wrong if i'm understanding you right. i'm not wasting a penny on another tv until i see where 3d goes. 21:9 is not the answer long term anymore than 16:9.

            cheers

Yes, HD feed is not being allowed by F1 management (Bernie!) so not BBC's fault, but really disappointing all the same.

it's not being allowed until someone puts more silver in his palm i would wager.

Its cool, I just needed an excuse for the boss

Actually its not so much not allowed as not available. According to BBC website the various telco's around the world that provide the feed at each race are not in possesion of an HD cameras.......

I would have thought Bernie would realise by now that there is only so much money you can spend in your life. I guess its just a power thing for him now. But I think he is killing the golden goose...

                                Arrives Tuesday ish

Got a stand and the Samsung Bluray player thrown in for the usual £50 extra.

The fact that the Formula 1 starts at the end of the month on BBC apparently () in HD had absolutely no bearing whatsoever on my decision to get the above. At all, honest guv

Its got me looking at my surround setup now lol. Need a new amp maybe (possibly a Denon 2809) and upgrade on the surrounds. Currenently a Kef Center 1 and Canon rears. Fancy a set of Tannoy Arena's if they will compliment the Tannoy 6 monsters I run at the front I want to go from 5.1 to 7.1

I have The Dark Knight and BBC's Planet Earth on Bluray coming Apparently both are real demo pieces for HD and Bluray

                                Absolutely cannot wait
wow nice one Dashik, got a new 46 Samsung 6 weeks back , great tv , i did not go for the blueray yet not sure which to go for , youl be well happy mind
