Thomas, the jist of it was he bought a servo for you from SMC, then he says you gave him a dud second hand one to take back after complaining said servo was faulty.

Anyhow, it didn't sound anything like the sort of thing you would do and it got the squinty eye treatment from pretty much all the regular members. He then slagged everyone off, closed the thread and had his account deleted it seems.

I didn't see the thread but I've bought plenty from Thomas in the past and wouldn't hesitate to buy again, top bloke and I'm very sure he wouldn't knowingly sell or exchange faulty goods. Everything I've had off him has been top quality and well looked after...

I can't understand this. Thomas is a top bloke.
A friend of mine has recently started and, although Thomas doesn't even know him, he went well out of his way to get a s/h tx, rx charger and various other bits to help him get started.
Need more people like him I say
            Cheers, Lee.

It's about time someone said what's what as whatever it was is no longer closed and is causing concern.

              I doubt thomas stitched someone.

I've never had a problem with Thomas. I've bought a few things from him and they have been great.

I think if anybody has a beef with someone else, air privately not on here.

If anybody wants a reference for Thomas I will vouch for him

PS Even if he does fly namby pamby gliders...........................<matt takes cover>

Hmm that might have been me, I said it sounded like a wind up and to just give Thomas back the servo and tell him to poke it.
Perhaps it should be Thomas telling so and so where to shove it

Ummmmm, this thread, and the one that was deleted (which I missed), are a good example of why no threads should ever get deleted, unless they are illegal. . . . .

I'm NOT whiter than white, because I'm a moderator on another site, where I once made a descision to delete a thread, having had complaints from some members. . . . . .it was the right descision at the time. . . . . . . but I regret it to this day, and got a LOT of serious stick from other members, and rightly so. If a similar situation occurred now, I would place the closed thread in a members only area, with a warning about the content.

Thomas, maybe you should take up Stuarts offer of a copy of the original post (or the entire thread if it's available ?)

If a member is well know, and respected, the general membership will soon come to their defence when they are attacked, even if they cannot do it themselves.

Why does it always persist down at weekends ?

I tend to think some stuff is best deleted, usually it's threads that are a ruck between two members or some level of misunderstanding between a customer and a retailer.

In the first instance it shouldn't be in public anyway, it's just attention seeking and is best dealt with behind closed doors through processes designed to deal with such things.
In the second instance deletion is preferable to the forum being shutdown for liable when things go badly awry.....and in many cases the presented info is very one sided and only half the story is presented making the retailer look bad (on purpose usually).

For me neither type of thread actually serve much purpose in a public forum other than to cause a lot of problems.

I think Thomas was a bit of an unlucky bystander really. It was mostly aimed at me either directly or indirectly in the hope of making me look small or stupid in front of my peers

Always thought I needed very little help as I make a pretty good job of it all on my own

Oh yeah and a bottle of ESB here please
