My wife has bought me a heli ( humming bird elite cp plus),It is second hand of e-bay.I,ve flown mcx so i was well chuffed with it.

It came with the training kit and i did a quick check and started it up on a tile floor to get used to her,It is a mode 1 and ive started to get to grips with her now.I've started to power her up so she has her skids just of the floor and was doing well and ready to go a bit higher.

Now this is where my problem started I powered up and she would not leave the ground I've tried and tried but but to no avail.

It came with a 6 channel Futaba transmitter,is there a setting on this that might not be wrong? (i'm only used to a simple 4 channel)

I've look through the the book work for her and the only thing i can see that might be wrong is that in the book it says that the servo horns should all be at 90 degree to the ball rods and i,ve looked at my mcx and they are 90 degree as well but the ones on the humming bird are not. Could this be the problem?

I did not want to change them as the box said it came 95% ready so i thought that the factory would have set them up like this.

I might be clutching at straws and it might be just some thing simple.I can't get hold of the seller but he said that he did not use it much.

Any advice welcomed as i'm gutted

Could well be a duff lipo. Not enough grunt to lift her off.

I don't know the heli, but pitch / throttle curves come to mind too.

    Hope you get it sorted

With a pitch gauge. Do you have a heli club close to you? Someone will do it for you, or a gauge will cost about £10 -20.

              I work in Telford.

If you want to spin over there one day I'll give it a quick once-over for you. Not familiar with your heli, but I should spot anything obvious.

I still go with knackered lipo. How many have you got? If only one you will certainly need at least one other for flying time betweencharges, so get one & see what it does with that.

I have the Elite 3D Pro so I assume its same heli, if its not set up right you will not be able to give enough head speed for lift.
Even in normal mode you need as much head speed as poss & let the pitch do the work or if your able to fly st1 then you can set thro curve to 100,100,100,100,100 then tame her on the pitch curve so best way to fly her is st1 t/c 100% linear p/c 40,45,50,65,70+.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

Yes, or a PM. Also, Robgt is in Shrewsbury & he's a helpful sort so may be able to cast his expert, highly-tuned, beady eyes over it.

Using the Idle-up switch on the Tx, sett the throttle curve to 100% at all stick positions so the motor is at full chat at all stick positions. Max power.

Then the pitch curve, what he suggests are the %age to set in the Tx to give the correct blade pitch at the five stick positions Bottom, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, Full to make the heli fly correctly.

So as you switch to full power (Idle-up) you will have sufficient - but not too much - pitch to take off & fly.

                          Hope this helps

                          David

The setting of Idle-up switch, pitch curve & throttle curve are all in the Tx menu. TBH, if it's confusing to you you need someone to show & explain as they go.
