C'mon guys... Europe is one single big country... some UK guys might not go to this one, but there might be plenty of European citizens that will be happy to attend the event...

(Moreover the good weather is 100% sure)

On a much more cynical note isn't this maybe a case of Jeff having ****ed off the UK shops so much that most of them won't go and pay his extortionate costs anymore? So now he's off to Europe to annoy a whole new set of traders who don't know any better?
now ashley dont hold back say what you really feelare you sure your not going to attend

its only a UK venue anyway.

Its well hard to even enter if u are a UK pilot. there is only a couple of places in each class for us lot.
i know that cos i have friends that have tried to enter every year and there forms go in on the day ..

these boys practice so hard and then get fobbed off just so it can be an international event.

        good riddens.

Better not it would get censored

Just know that a lot of our traders stop supporting it for those reasons.

I'm in two minds here one says I want to go and see the worlds flying talent the other has a problem supporting something that has been built up in the UK at our expense and time. If it wasn't for us it wouldn't have got off the floor.

However, it's not that far and everything is there to make money. Lets not forget the amount of time Jeff and his team put into the organisation of such an event. I can't imagine that the returns are that lucrative, it's not that popular or well supported a sport yet.

I say good luck to him and his team and look forward to the event being truly global attracting the best of the best from the regional competitions. I said in an earlier post I think that this is just the start and countries throughout the world affiliated to 3DX will host the event. I for one support anything that seeks to promote our sport, whatever, wherever that may be.

that's what Jeff charges for a sponsor to have a prime time demo slot (or there abouts, difficult to get sponsors to admit what they have to pay).

Anyhow, I don't want to beat Jeff up continually. He did a good job setting up 3D Masters as a worldwide competition, it's just for me it never progressed and as the years moved on I found it less and less interesting, to the point that last year I didn't watch any of the competition flying and the bit I actually wanted to watch (evening flying) got cut off half way through due to noise complaints that we knew would happen as they happened last year.

It going to spain for me is a good thing as it means Rob's & Mike's comp (UK 3D Champs) will finally get the support it deserves. Anyone who has never been to this needs to pay attention......... it's cheaper to attend, the flying is awesome, the venue is better and the proceeeds go to cancer research not Rob and Mike's pockets. Why the hell are we sitting here rattling on about 3DM when really we should be talking about the big event of next year (for us) UK 3D champs.

                          monkeys and clowns

too much money to crash infront of everyone
lets be fair...eeerm..no lets be honest
at most of the uk shows in the uk the event manager sometimes pays for pilots to attent ,being the show attraction and it may cost the pilot money to go to a show and to prepare a model for the spectators.alas thats why some pilots get at least free entrance and well looked after.

at the masters its like a circus(no being funny)the circus comes to town and people come to watch the clowns, but i wouldnt imagine the clowns have to pay to preform.even clowns aint stupidbut we are.to promote our hobby the pilots entrance could be free as the spectators pay the price for spectating.
then it goes to spain and costs us more.im completely amused at this present time that we can be preforming monkeys dancing for nuts
on low key events i can understand that entrance attendance is low so making pilots pay is essential to hold the event.but once its making money maybe it should change
ps you try to charge the aircraft guys at a show and see what happens
                          regards craig simmons/a preforming monkey
