I've supported / watched every 3D Masters since the inception - can't afford to go to this one - Yes (****ed) just about sums it up.

i think maybe he should have still done the masters 2009 in northampton and then told everyone at the masters 2009 that 2010 would be in spain,that would have give spectators and competitors 12 months to prepare for the 3d masters 2010 spain ie passports and also to settle there thoughts
ps more interesting than that is whats going to happen to uk competitions in the uk now ??? will they grow/will there be more comps

personally don't give a monkeys, always enjoy the UK 3D Champs far more.

On a much more cynical note isn't this maybe a case of Jeff having ****ed off the UK shops so much that most of them won't go and pay his extortionate costs anymore? So now he's off to Europe to annoy a whole new set of traders who don't know any better?

Sent Jeff an E-mail - got this reply -- sorry if it's a standard reply and you've read it before.

We have been invited to run 3D Masters in Spain and we have at our disposal

apartments and many other facilities which will appeal to entrants, sponsors
and spectators. The site is ideal for the World's largest International 3D
contest with unlimited Night Flying, no noise constraints and virtually
guaranteed good weather. With its own bars, restaurants, entertainments, and
the Sea only 20 minutes away, the visitor is guaranteed not only a
spectacular weekend of 3D, but a holiday as well.
We know that this decision will cause controversy, but believe that the team
effort over the years has successfully put 3D Masters onto the world map as
the pre-eminent 3D competition, and it now seems a natural progression to
take the event to the world and see just how far it can go. We have changed
the format for 2009 to try to encourage more radical flying, changed a lot
of the Set Manoeuvres and added a Synchro Flying competition.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you very much for all your
support for 3D Masters over the years, and hope that you will try to join us
in Spain. We are looking forward to it immensely.

Hmm I was soo looking forward to going to it next year as well ... Ahhh well .. At least this way I get to see UK pilots fly at clubmans and 3D champs so for me these 2 outway the loss of the Masters to Spain ....
