  • She arrived today :o)

Oh boy, my new Trex 500 arrived this afternoon, and when I say new this thing is barely a month old as Ant' added the invoice in the box where he purchased her.

After fixing the L/Gear, rota head etc man what a thing of beauty she really is, there's not a mark on her anywhere she's just too perfect for words

Christ I was actually shaking with excitement when I carefully took her out of what can only be called a "bomb proof" piece of packing, I can't get over how much larger the 500 is to the 450, the paddle bar is as thick as the main shaft on the BCX2, the rotas are huge in length and width compared to my trusty 450's blades.

I'm over the Moon here, I can't believe I have this bird, I've been wanting one since they came out, but to have one prebuilt in showroom A1 condition and barely a month old is just too much luck all at once.

Thank you Ant' you've really done me super proud mate, I feel kinda guilty paying what I have after seeing the butchers bill it took adding the extras and putting her together, I have a GY401 from Phil winging it to me, and a new AR6200 from Rod arriving tomorrow.

I'll be honest, 2008 has been a bitch to me, increase in pain levels, having to come of Morphine slowly as you can't just stop taking that once started, other health issues that has left me almost house bound, its been very difficult and I've had to face some nasty demons head on, but if this is the only good luck I have this year then it more then makes up for any hardship so far.

I tell yea, screw pain killers seeing my new pride & joy sitting proud next to my smaller POJ, is the best medicine I've ever had, I now can't wait to see her fly, as those rotas are gonna sing a very pretty song.

    Yay.

Still waiting for the wind to drop so i can thrash mine around a bit. Awsome looking machine. Hovered it on the front and its mega smooth with what looks to be stacks of power. Very tempted to take it out now but id prefer less wind for the first flight. That way i can trim it out when its calm and then just forget and fly whatever the wind is like.
Good luck with it Wayne, if your as happy as i am with mine then i know how ya feel mate.
Let us all know how you get on bud.

Would love a 500 myself but all good things come to those who wait I guess.

I'm really pleased for you with the heli mate, I only hope now you get well enough to fly her really soon. After all you've been through this year you deserve some good to happen.

Many thanks for the kind replies everyone, I think it's finally sunk in she's all mine, Lil, I have to say they look dead cool sitting side by side together.

The Alloy blade holders and head is a work of art, the carbon main frame is rock solid with thread lock nuts holding the whole show together.

I'm well happy & content with my fleet of four birds, I'll have to take a photo of them in size order, the little 4#3b looks like a tiny bug compared to the 500.

Main thing is I have Heli's that I can comfortably afford to run and maintain, I would love a 600, but the battery cost puts me off, but anyway that's a long way off if ever.

I can't believe how my hobby has grown in the last 53 weeks, and to have a large bird in the collection is a real nice addition, all I've got to do now is stock up on spares as I'm fully kitted out with the 450, with practically nothing stocked for the 500, not that I'm planning to do anything daft, just seeing her tail on will be enough for me right now.

Again many kind thanks to everyone.
