What`s your opinion of RR and it`s members?

I joined RR a few months ago because a club member advised me to. Said it`s a good way to learn. Well i learnt something alright, and it wasn`t about heli`s. Yes they have alot of members so you are sure to get a quick response to a question, BUT, they love the sight of their own text don`t they. Totally irrelevant to the question sometimes. And they know it all, if they don`t like the last guys answer to your question, they will let them know and end up hijacking your thread to have a debate amongst themselves, becoming abusive to the extent that your thread gets closed down.
And after a short google search, i found RC Heliaddicts. WHAT a difference. The answers you get are short and sweet and straight to the point. And if there is a difference of opinion, it`s dealt with in a friendly and diplomatic way.
Anyone agree/disagree?

RR - Run Ryder an alternative heli forum based in the USA.

There are alot of people that have/have had issues with the forum and the way it is run, if you do a serch on this forum you will find a fair number of references to what has gone on.

RR=RunRyder, I've never had any doings with 'em, my first forum to do with RC Helis was here, found by accident and I'm ever glad I did. Great bunch of peeps, and a lot of help. In fact I'd've jumped ship a long time ago with this hobby but for people like Mike W. Machasm, Cambs Flyer, Boggy et. al. Sorry to anyone else who I didn't mention but you know who you are with kind words and support.

Sums it up nicely. Short, sweet and straight to the point. Just the way i like it. With loads of humour thrown in to cheer you up when your feeling down after a crash.

Talking about hijacking your thread heli8or - have you flown that heli in your picture down in Gaer Park? It looks alot like the photo on their website?

No mate. The one in my picture was the first heli i bought when i got into this hobby 2 and a half years ago. Then i bought a raptor titan and got bored with the lama. I got bored cos i was scared to fly it around proper. I did a loop and a roll once and got the shakes so much after, i had to land for a break, and decided to get a proper 3D heli. (OK OK not so proper but it`ll do) It was a geeorgeous heli to see flying and had plenty of offers for it, so got rid.

RunRyder is run be a bit or a weirdo and there are some very odd things that go on but...

... you can't compare a local forum like this to RunRyder - where there are a lot of good people (and twats too) who provide a huge knowledge base on every heli, most problems put into google come up with the solution in RR. There are quite a few regulars on here who tend to ask the questions on RR and not here - There is also no where else you can wind up a yank than on RunRyder

Having said that, most threads tent to go off topic with a pointless argument over a load of rubbish.
