  • All about Auto

Hello, im new to this Auto thing, can some one please explain to me how does it work, what is it for, and how do you set it in your Transmitter - what switch is responsible for Auto? Can it be done in DX6i?

    Cheers,
    Sergey

    Auto...

Its not auto fly thats the bit you need a sim and loads a time for...

An Auto is the action of flying up to about as far as you can see and stoping the engine...... then applying negitive pitch to speed up the head until you are a few feet from the ground.... then give it loads of positive pitch just before landing.

too early and you loose all the head speed and it krashes....Too late and it drills its way into the floor either way a busted heli...

that is until your engine cuts out then you will have to do an enforced auto,so its best to try and practice beforehand to give yourself a fighting chance

autos are actually good fun and whilst there is a lttle bit of risk there are quite easy.

However we are talking about on 30-50 sized helis. Anything smaller is much harder to learn to auto with.

                      Thanks Ron

I remember seeing it with disbelief before, and it's always worth seeing again.

Putting the table on Phoenix, now that's a good idea! It would make a good spot landing pad for us beginners too

As for autos, I don't know how you guys do it - I crash 90% of the time and the ones I do get down in one piece are never anywhere near the bulls eye.

If it ever happened for real I know I'd have alot of rebuilding to do

Dont try your first auto on the 500 in real life though.
I tried that one from 15 ish foot, at 3 foot the blades had stopped.
The rest is history and hads been put down to experience (a bad experience)
