The fat lady has sung, price is a round of beer under £900.

I'd read elsewhere that the new V2 was aluminium case which was why I expected it to be up around the price of the current alloy case Vcontrol (£1200). But I was misinformed, the V2 is plastic case.

I'm willing to pay the extra cost of VC2 because of the extra features it gives me. The aluminium versions are over priced in my opinion and I wouldn't pay more than an extra £100 for it. That's just my opinion though and I'm sure plenty of people love them.

I've nothing negative to say on the subject, it looks like a pretty cook Tx with some very interesting features. In fact the only slightly negative comments in this thread were from Vcontrol owners. End of the day I agree with you, it's worth what people are willing to pay, so if they sell well at £889 then good luck to Mikado. Anyone who doesnt like it doesnt have to buy one.

It's not a V2 any more than an IX12 is a DX9 V2. It's just another model, and the old one isn't going anywhere.

Sorry, but my pedantic nature just can't handle all the "V2" talk when Mikado have never written or mentioned version 2 anywhere.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

Bigpops, im not disputing anything you said but do you have reliable information that says the original VControl will continue? I'd just assumed that this new 'Touch' version would replace the 'old' model, not be offered along side it.

I asked Mikado USA about this twice during their live Q&A and got no response. I thought Mikado might keep it as an entry-level radio, as it's a stable system and would only need minimal support.

I guess it only really affects support and resale prices, probably not that big of a deal whether they do or not.

They can't discontinue the original V Control. The new one is simply too expensive by comparison. Mikado want people to fly their stuff. Why would they increase the price of entry?
It would be like Futaba only having their highest level radio available. Who'd fly Futaba if that was the case?

Last year I expected Mikado to discontinue the Logo 600SX and Logo 550 SX with the release of the new metal headed versions. They didn't. Instead, they just changed the canopies to match the new ones so they don't have to make two shapes.

I could be totally wrong, and the original VBar control disappears into a memory, but I can't see it. I was speaking to 3 other Vbar control owners yesterday at the field. All of them think it (Vbar Control Touch) is too expensive and won't be changing. Not only that, they also said they wouldn't pay that price if they weren't already flying V control.

After a long Frank discussion with myself over the pros and cons i have thrown £200 at the problem now.

Ive not spent anything on the hobby for 11 months, and didnt plan to but im quite taken by the Tx and so thought sod it.

Rerun of last year almost exactly 12 months ago, spent nowt for over a year, saw a Logo 700 plastic in the flesh, ended up with two in the space of three days.

Only 1 Tx though this time

That makes perfect sense. I suppose the only reason why Mikado might choose to discontinue the original Vcontrol is to force more sales of the new one. But I like your line of reasoning better, in fact maybe they could even discount the original version to encourage more to make the jump.

Other companies make several radios,i see no reason for Mikado to drop the current V Control which is a remarkable bit of kit and could attract plenty more users yet.

Of course used prices may take a tumble.

If ever I return to flying lol , I would definitely have one it just makes life simpler if you ask me . The price is the price and nothing in this hobby is ever cheap . But agreed I cant see them discontinuing the V1 unit that would make no sense at all as its not been out that long if you think about it.
Mikado in my book make some pretty nice stuff with my favorite being the Logo 600sx , however I was very dissapointed with the new plastic 700 which I built with the tailwag I couldnt get rid of !

It's weird because I never did have that tail wag on mine and I never even did any shim mods. What I do have is a swash phasing error but vbar or something seems to correct it
