A bit less than i was expecting based on the price of the current aluminium case Vcontrol. I wonder how they expect to sell the current ones at £1250 when the new improved one is advertised at £900? Most people would just wait for the new one surely?

I had it in my head for some reason that the new 'V2' was aluminium cased. But looking at the pictures and spec i think it's actually plastic. That would explain it's lower price point than the V1 aluminium model.

Automatic power-on if an already bound model is switched on? That sounds interesting.

If that's going to work, then the RF system is going to have to be powered, sucking down the battery. No?

On the price: £888 is exactly double what I paid for my V control. At that price, I don't think it will be as popular as the current model, but there are plenty of people with deep pockets in the hobby, and they'll lap this up in a heart beat.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

If this had come out last year I probably would've held back, but life is prosperous right now so I'm going to treat myself. If I was a smoker I'd probably be burning £2-3K per year so I think I can justify the odd expensive thing now and again.

What doofus picks up their Heli from the flight line then leaves it plugged in? Surely the buzz from the servos is a giveaway? Even on a nitro. Also if you were to do that then that wouldn't then allow you to turn the tx off? Therefore reminding you you're a doofus. Tbh if anyone thinks they require that as a safety feature then they are a liability.

Oh well if it reminds them and gets them into a safer routine then it's done its job but it's a big price to have a reminder

I kind of have to agree on your point but some would argue it's function over style

Apparently it scans for your models for a fixed period after use, before it shuts down completely. The example given was you might manually boot it in the morning, but throughout the day you can use the auto boot, so around a few hours of scanning I guess.

My guess is it scans with very much reduced power compared with when flying the model full range. That coupled with the screen being off probably consumes very little power. A bit like when you lock your car. It still uses power otherwise you wouldn't be able to unlock it remotely

The plastic case Vcontrol already retails between £608 and £680 (depending on colour) with the same receiver.

At the price point of even the current aluminium Vcontrol Mikado seem to be going for the ultra high end sector of the market where Jeti currently reside.

Current VBC are about £500 on their own....£700 is a realistic price TBF

At the end of the day it's just a heli TX, a colour touch screen is nice and all that but who the hell looks at the screen when they are flying?

No real advantage in upgrading IMO

I saw an ad from midland for £869ish I think but that was the top price they said if it was higher they would absorb the cost but would give discount if lower. saying that £200 deposit.
