I quite agree with this as lately I've been trying to get back into helis after a break I bought a goblin 380. Now try and get a motor and a set of green zeal blades for one of these in the UK I tried for a month at least but eventually gave up and ordered from belgium and I'll tell you what I wont hesitate in the future to do the same. Much better service than one of the large shops I've used recently. The man that has never crashed a heli has never flown a heli.

Yeah, that's the problem, once you give up and buy from Europe, you tend to find out that the service is good and it only takes a day or so longer than a UK shipment. It's not ideal but better than having a heli down for weeks on end.Originally posted by GIR8 View PostI quite agree with this as lately I've been trying to get back into helis after a break I bought a goblin 380. I've done the same recently when not able to find parts in the UK. Kind of gives you a clue how this might end.Originally posted by Crashalotjoe View PostYeah, that's the problem, once you give up and buy from Europe, you tend to find out that the service is good and it only takes a day or so longer than a UK shipment. Again, same testimony here.
I grounded my oxy3 (will teach me to fly low like on the simulator !!!), impossible to find any stretch boom and blades in stock in the UK, so I just ordered a bunch of spare parts directly from Lynx in Vietnam. Expected delivery is Friday and I ordered on Tuesday night!
Personally and as has already been mentionned, I am convinced that the fluctuating value of the pound on the international markets is a major factor in the current situation.

My most recent acquisitions have been Logo's with parts coming direct from Mikado in Germany (I know Align-Trex are now doing Logo stuff but that was after I needed parts), Oxy 2, bought from FLP but parts having to come direct from Lynx and a Compass Exo which is not well supported at all in the UK so both the heli and the parts have come from Belgium. The road to ruin indeed.Originally posted by kenny d View PostIve had 2 orders lately from Lynx , free delivery on $125 orders ,&. About 20% cheaper , I've got another order going out right now

Shops may think they can't afford to keep stock just now but the reality is they can't afford not toOriginally posted by Crashalotjoe View PostMy most recent acquisitions have been Logo's with parts coming direct from Mikado in Germany, Oxy 2, bought from FLP but parts direct from Lynx and a Compass Exo which is not well supported at all in the UK so both the heli and the parts have come from Belgium. Just thinking are any of the shop owners members of this forum would be nice to get there take on what everyone feels about the
issues that we are all faced with about no getting parts for our helis when we need them ,as there is 27.000 members on here and
most must need parts at some time. I for one own raptors and rave helis where parts are hard to get hold of and now align parts
are going the same way you have to search around to get what you need. Align now stock vbar but what good is that if you can't
get bits for the heli that its fitted on.

I have used a shop thats on here recently very helpful and very honest if parts not in stock no "it will be in next week". Which to me is much better than keeping you hanging even suggested other places to get parts etc.Originally posted by Raptormad2 View PostJust thinking are any of the shop owners members of this forum would be nice to get there take on what everyone feels about the

I tend to use FL exclusively to the point I bought a load of vouchers in the new year sale they had.
Since then, they have had virtually next to nothing with regard Mikado spares, Servo spares, Radio (telemetry) components, Kontronik equipment or pretty much anything else I have needed.
Managed to get a few SAB bits for a friend using them, but considering they are (or have been) the main heli shop in the UK, its very worrying that their stock levels are so low.
I have held off ordering from abroad (except for Minicopter parts) as I want to support UK shops, but its making it very hard to justify.
Classic example - The Mikado U/I sensor has been out of stock in this country for over 8 months!!, yet is readily available in Europe or the US.
As has been suggested, its a shame people from the shop don't come on here and explain why their not stocking stuff, or have an updated expected delivery on their web site.
Even when ringing, all they can tell you is a delivery is expected on such and such a date, hover, they can't tell you whats in it
Fingers crossed the stock levels and support picks up real soon, otherwise I worry UK customers will get used to shopping abroad and the few remaining UK based shops will just cease to exist.Born to Fly, Forced to Work
