    Yeah, I know, I doubt anyone around here would know what they are. Quote "How high does it go, etc..."

    I guess they just block all channels, I know there are about 14 2.4GHz routers around here and I've never had a problem. (touch wood, I take no more chances any more with my helis ). There must be more over the field on the other side.

      I'd like to know what it covers you for, where, and under what circumstances, etc.
      I rememebr being at the BMFA/SAA AGM and hearing this from the broker both associations use

      "we will cover you even if you fly a plane down the high street, into a shopping mall, kill 10 people and set fire to the place."

      "Just dont expect us to insure you next year"

      its a block insurance so if someone does somethign really really stupid then the premiums for everyone will go up

      Stu.

          Not saying dont do it just be aware of your obligations

          OK the bottom line is yes you are insured but should anything nasty happen you can expect a full enquiry via the AAIB. Air Accident Investagation Board

          The Civil Aviation Authority ultimately controls everything that flies from a Kite to a Jumbo and anything in between. The BMFA and SAA work on our behalf to oversee model flying and represent us at CAA Level.

          we are governed by an ANO..Air Navigation Order. The bit you need to read up on is CAP658..heres just a tiny bit as a taster

          BTW I've not added the bold print..Its direct from the document itself

          Brian

          “A person shall not recklessly or negligently cause or permit an aircraft to
          endanger any person or property.”
          All model flying activity is controlled by this article of the ANO and it is important that
          the operator of any model aircraft should bear this in mind at all times.
          1.2 Article 98
          Article 98 contains additional requirements to fly model aircraft safely.
          Article 98 states:
          “(1) A person shall not cause or permit any article or animal (whether or not
          attached to a parachute) to be dropped from a small aircraft so as to
          endanger persons or property.
          (2) The person in charge of a small aircraft which weighs more than 7 kg
          without its fuel but including any article or equipment installed in or
          attached to the aircraft at the commencement of its flight shall not fly
          such an aircraft:
          (a) unless the person in charge of the aircraft has reasonably satisfied
          themselves that the flight can be safely made;
          (b) in Class A, C, D or E airspace unless the permission of the appropriate
          air traffic control unit has been obtained;
          (c) within an aerodrome traffic zone during notified hours of watch of the
          air traffic control unit (if any) at that aerodrome unless the permission
          of any such air traffic control unit has been obtained;
          (d) at a height exceeding 400ft above the surface unless it is flying in
          airspace described above and in accordance with the requirements
          thereof;
          (e) for aerial work purposes other than in accordance with a permission
          issued by the CAA which may be issued subject to such conditions as
          the CAA thinks fit.”
