I don't know anything about RPM sensors etc but I am sure that the AR7100 is the one which is designed to go with the DX7. When I bought my DX7 the AR 7100 was bundled in with it.

I am outside the UK right now and don't have the superfast connection I do at home so I'm not here as much the next week or so. But just a quick comment on the question of expo. It's very much a personal preference thing but I generally have about 15% expo on the cyclics and a bit more, maybe 18% ish on the tail. But it will vary because it depends on how snappy response you like and also how hard the dampers are. I always have pretty hard dampers on my flybarred models for quick roll rates, so some expo makes it easier to avoid unwanted input, especially on the rudder (plus I used to work at F3C type hovering where you have to be able to make very subtle moves). But you can certainly start with no expo and see if it feels too responsive and then add as needed.Originally posted by whittm View PostA governor, would be a magnetic pickup sensing the main rotor rpm, yes? Not going to be able to buy one any time soon... I've got 90% on Idle 1 and 2, a bit high? Also, just run D/R at %100 with no expo then?Kasama, Minicopter, Henseleit, JR, Shape, Beam

Thanks for that. ..I'll try those settings to start. ...
I've just bought the ar7100 off eBay! Hope I've done the right thing! Just noticed that it runs off 6-10v. I'm assuming this makes my brand new 4.8v nimh battery, surplus to requirements? :-(
A question. ..With a new receiver, will all the settings I've made to the heli such as the head and tail be thrown out the window now, or is it just plug and play?
