  • Trex 450L Dominator - any good?

    Hi gents,
Firstly I haven't diapered again ive just been busy lol. Not got too much flying in either :-(
I'm slowly learning 3D at the minute and really fancy a 450L, are they decent? They look nice to me but im no expert!
I also fancy something to build too. I'm looking at the 6S combo on align trex

T-REX450L (6S) (GPRO version) DOMINATOR Super Combo RH45E17XT Model Helicopters
    Thanks,
    Jake!

I've never had one, but many seem to say that Trex helis don't survive crashes well. Might be stale news..

The Gaui X3 is a very similar design and crashes well (I can attest to that I'm currently flying a KDS Chase which flies a little better in my opinion, but is harder to work on.

The thing I'd really recommend is a flybarless unit with self-level or rescue; I really like Spirit (Spirit System) and mine have definitely paid for themselves the number of times they've saved my helis.

I have one, my second 450 its a really nice heli, easy to repair and cheap. Fly's nice, with the 360 blades I think it fly's more like a 500 than my other 450.

I would definitely recommend one, if your looking for a 450.

Personally I would use the turnigy servos over the align ones I have found them a lot more crash resistant.

Great little machine, couple for sale on here at present, the chap above and also tonystevenson has one. Thinking about trying the turnigy servos myself but believe that you have to change the mountings...

not many 450's crash well if they come in at speed.I have they 450 pro on 3s among many other helis that I have and its very stable with the ar7200 bx and a very capable 3d machine .If you can stretch to a 550 then do so although the fear of a bigger heli might hold you back and the 450 is a great hele to learn on.

If your saying above you can afford mateys 450, not really worth going goblin 380 is there.

I've heard people say the G380 costs as much to crash as a 500. Don't really see the point in it myself.
