Its a Graupner Agusta A109 power
it will have the uni or uni expert mechanics
they fly very well, the tail is a little weak in strong winds
not a pile of doo do, but not a model for a beginner

I'll take it off your hand for £40 delivered

what was wrong with the sceadu?
as a badly set up sceadu will fly well enough for a beginer
a very well set up sceadu flies on rails

my advice is to stop messing around buy some fuel and lern to fly the raptor

          Wow!

          £80

Why don't I ever unearth gems like this?

Dont listen to the doom & gloom merchants this was a nailed on bargain! I've seen older models than this in worse condition change hands for well over £2000!
Not that you'd want to sell it, why would you? A rock solid reliable trainer like this at a knock down price only comes along once in a lifetime. As a learner I don't think there's a better machine out there, apparently DJI used the Graipner A109 as their benchmark for "hands off" stability so it's ideal if you're learning circuits and basic 3D.

The real beauty of them is their crash resistance, they're almost like the smaller Eflite range in as much as if you can hit TH and you're no higher than 100ft you can pretty much pull the blades straight & go again. If you do suffer any breakages though the spares supply network is first class, they've even started stocking a full range in my local Tesco express. But don't let their legendary stability fool you into thinking they're not a fully fledged 3D Smackmissile cause you'd be wrong. Ramp up the HS to about 3k RPM (those wooden blades come alive at that speed) and let it rip, even the most advance manoeuvres are a doddle especially if you snip the paddles off with a pair of side cutters. A beginner at my club went from basic circuits with a Trex 700 to figure 8, looping pirofunnels in a couple of hours on the same day he converted from mode 2 to mode 1, that's how good they are!

In my view you paid as much for this as you would any 2nd hand Sim and this is a far better learning tool that will only appreciate in value.

I think it looks like an interesting project!! definitely not for the faint hearted and absolutely NOT for a relative beginner lol!!
I quite fancy a scale project away from 3D so I'd have snapped his hand off for that!!

good luck though mate, I suspect youre gonna need it..

Thank you to the guys who had some hepful imput. To the others... I did not buy this to learn to fly on at all, its a long term project. I have enough fuel for my raptor so that Is not a problem and I have joined a club.
I probably should have kept this one to myself
                    Thanks,

No it's good to share stuff like this and I'm sure it will make an interesting winter project. As you've joined a club, I'm sure you will get good support with both restoring and flying it too. In the meantime just keep getting more and more time on the raptor. Your first flight was looking good.

Get it flying, take it to a field and charge people £20 a head to shoot at it with shotguns
