Will this be more stable than my MSRX in a breeze and is this model fully compatible with the DX6i?

    Thanks

Should be a significant upgrade 5hane, your mSR X is fixed pitch so has significantly less control available than a collective pitch helicopter, especially in the wind. That ability for the blades to push the helicopter down as well as up, and to retain full control while doing so is what really sets CP helicopters apart from FP. The 230S also has Blade's latest controller on there, so you should be able to tame it down so it flies just as easily as the mSR X, but as you open it up it'll be significantly faster and more capable.

And yes, should be fully compatible with the DX6i, they even list the settings for the DX6i in the manual on page 6 :-)

Excellent, thank you. I can put it on my Christmas list and keep an eye on feedback from owners in the meantime.

Significantly more stable in a breeze, and as above, DX6i settings are in the manual. Although I believe that with only a two-position flight mode switch on the DX6i, some functionality may be limited. Not sure, but worth checking.

Oh ok. Perhaps not so good if it has limitations. I'll see what I can find out. Ta

It'll be a while before I even attempted agility mode anyway, and if I did I just dial those settings in manually, so no need to splash out on a new transmitter.

Yes, I'm sure it would be fine. Should be a good step up from your mSRX.

I literally only found out about the 230s yesterday having absent from this site for a while. My next step was going to be the mcpx, but I just couldn't help wanting something just a little larger after the my MSRX. This looks like it!

Providing you have a reasonable space to fly, the 230S is going to be much better than the mCPX and easier to fly. Having said that I still enjoy flying my mCPX in the garden. To get the most out of it I would imagine the 230S needs a bit of space around it like the 180 CFX certainly does. The only advantage I can see with the mCPX is it's ability to fly indoors and in very tight spaces.

I have one of these 230S. Not had a flight with it yet due to swash not being level after start up in norm mode. Idol up 1 swash level, Idol up 2 level swash level. After this problem HH have added now a utube video of flight trim which should sort out this issue. For a beginner's heli to go and fly knowing that the swash is not level is a accident waiting to happen in a beginners hands.I have given this heli to a competent flyer and he has tried to set up the swash in trim flight 4 times so it got sent back to HH and returned back with no faults. Set up on DX 9 same problem swash not level. My text pilot will try again to set up the swash again.HH said failing that I would have to send my 230s and DX9 and get them to do it.
Just google swash not level on 230s

The garden is about 12 x 8 metres, hopefully enough to practice hovering and orientation before heading for a field.

Well that's a worry then. Is that a fault on yours or all of them?. Hopefully future batches will be sorted, as I doubt my purchase will happen just yet.
I wouldn't know what a uneven swashplate issue looked like and certainly don't want to start off with a dodgy model before I get started.

I think its a problem with HH seilling the 230s as a beginners model when you need some one skilled to put it in to to flight mode to set the swash plate so its ready for a beginner to fly when it should have lift the factory all set up so a beginner,The only mention of going into flight trim is after a repair. But when I spoke to HH today they have got a amendment to the Manuel.
I will keep you posted when the weather breaks.I have had this 230s for about 4 weeks and not even had 1 flight of it yet.
I like to her if any body else is having problems with there 230s like I am.

I read that something called a trim flight has to be done. Of course I know what trimming is but apparently with this model you can set the radio so that the 230s trims itself. God knows how the heli knows when its trimmed properly but apparently it does. Also I watched a HH video where the chap suggested that the swash wont be level and not to worry about it because it's only because the ground its sitting on isn't perfectly level.
