Seems unique in the market place to me. A trainer CP heli with SAFE technology. When I started 6 months ago I was planning to get the 200 SRX as my first outdoor trainer, but now I would get this instead for sure. I bet it's just as easy to fly with the self levelling modes and obviously far more capable in agility mode. To be honest I can't think of any competition with these features. i.e. CP, SAFE, RTF/BNF etc. I think Blade are really tuning into their market niche these days.

Can you assign Safe Mode to a button/switch on a Spektrum DX7 ? or will this only work with RTF bundle?

Haha! The sound of that tail motor is hilarious! Sounds like a little mouse screaming HELP HELP all the time!

James Haley can make a brick fly well, but even so, that does look quite good for what it is ...

I would say they will sell shed loads of these, simply because it has safe mode,
by the looks of the frame it will be as fragile as the srx, the main gear you look at the wrong way a tooth drops off, the servo gears think they have a part in the full monty, and the tail rotor think they are taxis, saying that I have a love hate relationship with my 200srx, and if it was six months ago I would have bought 230,

Damn, damn, damn. I was just about to take the next step and go from my 200SRX to an Align 450 and Blade do this to me! It'll be a gentler introduction to a non micro CP but will it just be an intermediate step and the 450 will inevitably follow in 6 months or so? With the 450 I'll get more knowledge from building and the fun of setting up the FBL and swash. With this its just buy and fly and limited learning opportunities but will be a gentler flying challenge. Decisions decisions.

If you can fly the 200SRX and especially if you have a sim, then the 450 is probably a better step for you than the 230S.

It's certainly a bigger step and one that I'd already psyched myself up for, if only I could stop this merry-go-round called work I'd be there!

This is almost certainly the right advice TBH ... Moving up to a 450 if you can fly a FP is mentally a big jump, but you'd be surprised how quickly you normalise to it.
