This was a good one, I was working on tic-tocks in the back garden when the helicopter absolutely launched itself into the ground.
I think a pitch link snapped while inverted, but the end result was impressive. The 250 drove itself into the ground inverted at pretty much full collective. Both blades snapped off and flew away, and the head and mainshaft buried themselves into the earth. It took quite a tug to get it out!

Definitely my most expensive crash in a while, in theory £42 of parts, but I had all the spare parts here, didn't even have to strip down my second 250, and I reckon I might be able to salvage the blade grips.
Anybody know if you can replace the output shaft of a DS410 servo?
:-D

- Bent main shaft
- Destroyed feathering shaft
- All four main grip bearings
- Bent sides of both main grips (should be able to file them down smooth again)
- Lost my Lynx head dampers
- Tore both DFC blade grip ball links apart
- Destroyed one servo output gear
- Bent one servo output shaft

I was very lucky actually as it hit the corn field literally a couple of feet from the hard footpath. Had it hit the path I think it would have just exploded into tiny pieces!
