  • helifest funfly, who flew?

    Hey guys,

Just thought I'd ask who flew in the funfly and how did you find it?

I flew twice (I had the Trex 700e with the white and blue canopy) and I found it truly nerve wracking flying with other helis about! It was especially tricky in the afternoon where the sun was in my face and all I could see was a dark silhouette of my heli!

Still I came home with a heli in one piece and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Special thanks to Rachel Plant and Dean Durrant (sorry I didn't catch the other chaps name!) who very kindly acted as my spotters while I flew.

I am very seriously considering trying for my A cert now!

How did you lot get on?

After seeing the general standard of pilots, I decided mine were probably best left in the van haha.

Yeah too right! I ended up pointing the heli straight at me with a little too little height after coming out of a Cuban eight a bit wrong!

See what I mean? I don't even know what a Cuban 8 is lol. I'm determined to get more flights in this summer. 2 years on & only flying once a month or less doesn't make for a confident pilot.

You need to give that old mans game a rest for a bit and get your arse down the club Andy, those 18 holes will still be there when the winter comes

The other chap was Peter Foukes. Pete and Rachel deserve a massive thanks for spotting for the pilots all weekend in the fun fly.

                    helifest funfly, who flew?

I was going to bottle it until a good friend of mine had a word with a certain mr Duncan Osborne and got him to spot for me!!

I don't mind admitting I was absolutely terrified but had two flights with no harm done and came away chuffed to bits, he gave me a few pointers too

I'm so glad I did it I'd be kicking myself now if I hadn't

                    Massive thanks to Duncan

I had a go, stood in the corner! Put one set of packs through the 600se in a very sedate bit of flying!

Watching that after flying at a club where I'm the only one that flies helis and the other club where I fly planks mostly makes me realise I need some serious practice!!!
