  • Best weather Ade
I guess you could say that.
Rain, Hail & Wind to go with the torential downpours we had both days with scattered spells of extreme sunshine what you could describe as variable I guess
Realy felt for Jamie too even though I never saw the incident.
On the back of his recent luck though what happened to his synergy was a severe kick in the balls

        • Been back a while and decided to just add my own thoughts. Was a great weekend despite the odd torrential downpour. Met a few new people from the forum, notably Mikee, Boggie, Jamiem and probably some others in the bar that I've forgotten

            • I did enjoy the day and talking to people but I have a complain about the transmitter control. I went to book my radio in today at 2.15pm and I was told they can't accept it because too many people are waiting. In the meantime I watched the queue at transmitter control build up an disappear several times between 2.15pm and the last flights at 4.30pm. I am sorry but I don't think that turning me away was right and from what I heard others were also turned away. I too had to drive there (360+ miles) so for me today was more of a fun-drive than a fun-fly. Charmounth isn't a spectator event like 3D Masters. People go there to fly. I hope the organisers are reading this.

                  • Hi, Ade and guys,

I wasn't actually involved in Tx control, so I don't know what they are planning for next year! As soon as I hear anything, I'll let you know!

I *do* know that we had a record number of trannies checked in - over 80 at the last count - which explains the long queues! Also not helped by one or two hogging the slots! I know Roger and Paul had to go out and call a few people to order!

As far as I am aware, only one 2.4 tranny was turned away for not being CE compliant. I don't know what happened in Angelos' case, but I know I was waiting for half an hour for a slot on more than one occasion! I'm not sure what Roger and Co have in mind for next time. The limiting factor is not frequency control, but how many models you can safely fit in on the flight-line!

We also had some complaints from the Newlands management about the flying going on on the campsite. They didn't mind when it was just 400s being flown sedately, but it appears that some relatively large machines were being flown quite vigorously, leading to complaints from other residents there. All flying has now been banned on the Newlands site! This is not the AHA's doing - its come from the campsite managers.

Nonetheless, I got the impression that the vast majority had a good week-end! I broke a promise to myself by going for a ride in the Robinson (Thanks Paul ;-) which was quite a buzz! Roll on the next one!

                    • There's a lot of large campsites down there and the evening flying for me was always one of the highlights of the weekend......maybe time to select a new site?
