    just a quicky...

when you reshaft and put new bearings in a motor, do you locktite the inner races to the shaft and the outer races to the bearing seat, to be sure the bearing never spins on the shaft or in the seat..... or just pop them in as they are and replace more regularly ?

it makes sense to to do this, as every time you part a motor the shaft is always worn where its been spinning in the bearing, but does it make it to difficult to get appart next time ?

just wondered how others do it before I put the 600mx back together

its not my dog by the way.

you should only loctite the outer races to the bearing seat.

And even then only if required due to the bearing being loose in the seat. The bearings I have changed in the past, (Scorpion surprise-surprise) have required a press to get them back in so no glue required.

Why? I would happily whick a little bearing fit onto the inner race if there was evidence of the motor shaft spinning in the race, even after replacing with new

Not conflicting advice as usual, just others experience. If as I found above I wouldn't worry about adding a bit of bearing fit to the inner race. My question was one of someone who is known on here for his experience in rebuilding motors and the reasons as to why not

wasn't moaning, but differing opinions are often frequent, to be expected, sometimes confusing, and sometimes wrong ! thats forum life for you .
