  • 700 size that use 2x5000packs

I have a stack of 5000 6s packs and may go for a 700 as my next heli. I used to have a rave env and loved it apart from installing the packs. I'm not a fan of the goblin so what other 700 size airframes will take this size lipo on 12s ?

If you want easy loading packs then the G4 e720 or e700 are great. There's also the trex 700 with trays and I think the 7hv has slide in trays. Battery mounting was a big factor in me picking the G4.

They all fly great any way so it's just personal preference at the end of the day ( the g4 also has the esc at the rear so no canopy juggling )

If you can cope with being a bit unique and not following the crowd, the Blade 700x is an excellent heli IMHO! Loading is a doddle with the clip-in battery tray.

It's a good choice if you like lowish head-speeds. Disc loading is extremely low and the tail is geared slow too with large tail blade (115mm). For its size, it feels very light and floaty in the sky even at 2050RPM and runs very quiet.

If you're more into high head-speed stuff - the Gaui X7 is a nice looking heli too ...

I'm trying to think of a 700 size leccy heli that doesn't take 2 x 5000 6s packs, they should work well in every heli of that size apart from the logo 600se, then they are slightly to large.
If i was to buy a 700 size right now it would be the logo 700 or the Synergy E7se

Don i will translate Toms post from posh to good old working class below:

If you can cope with flying something that no one wants, likes, and they cant even give away, and not following the crowd, thenBlade 700x is s**t heli, but i got to say its good as i'm the only one in the country to have been stupid enough to have bought it, so please buy one as well, so i'm not on my own, IMHO! Loading is a nightmare as i cant stand to look at it while i load the batteries imho

            Only joking Tom

Tbh mate I'm not a blade fan in the same way as I wasn't a raptor fan until I saw an e700 but I think there are a few more desireable kits out there for the same money as the blade 700

Sell all your 5000's as, IMHO, they're just too heavy, I had 22 different people message me for the two 5000's I sold last week, mad! Get yourself some 4000's and see how much nicer the hell is to fly, big weight difference. Slightly less flight time but not much as you not hauling that extra pork around!

I've just bought a Rave Ballistic 635 and stretched it to 700, best flying electric i've had yet. Really nice with the direct to swash and sliding battery tray.

But of course that doesn't really answer your original question, sorry Don!

I know - but what many probably don't realise is that we fly at the same club, and taking the p*ss out of my helis is the club past-time!

Local club mickey-taking aside. The 700x is a good helicopter - you've even said so yourself Ross on more than one occasion. Don, if you like machines that are geared for lowish head speeds, it's a really good choice.

The trick with the 700x is to look at it with an open mind, and not make assumptions based upon micro helis.

Other choices I would look at would be the aforementioned X7, and the Compass 7HV.

Fair enough. I would say though that you can get it much cheaper than the advertised prices. I was a bit (read, VERY) lucky - but I paid significantly less than advertised ...

oh look a 7HV for sale...what were the odds of that.

it is easy to get batts in and out of as they are on a sliding tray. G4 or E700 is probably easier though
