oh look a 7HV for sale...what were the odds of that.

it is easy to get batts in and out of as they are on a sliding tray. G4 or E700 is probably easier though

I found changing packs on the Rave difficult when I first got it but I was able to make it pretty manageable by moving around a few bolts that stuck out in the way, paring down to just two straps and figuring out the best routing for them making them easy to get to and then taping pairs of packs together into long sticks. They can then be easily changed from the rear. The only ones that are tight are the Turnigy 30-40C 5000s, the 20-30Cs fit fine and I have a pair of Gens Ace 4000s that have bags of room. I also have the tray up as high as possible for the best C of G.

The worlds your oyster, pretty much every 700 takes 5000s. Just buy the one you like the look off the most, they are all good enough lol.

When I had mine I only had align 5200 packs and they are bigggg. The front pack was easy but the rear one was an arse and especially strapping and un strapping. It had awesome presence tho

I bought the Gartt DFC head for my 700N and it's pretty darned good. Having said that I fully agree that buying a clone usually means a major detailed inspection of parts and any falling below one's own quality control need fettling or changing (I had that with a cheapo 450pro clone)..there's often some QC issues packaging up and keeping costs down. BUT we hear ocassional tales of branded helis with issues and here the cost saving is substantial enough to justify a bit of hassle. And any real pilot is going to dismantle and inspect every bit of any kit anyway. Plus it makes it crashable rather than bunching panties whenever you fly so long as you kit it out with reasonable rather than overpriced electronics too: HK motor and esc/ savox servos etc.

If they did a nitro version I'd probably buy it.

Yeah I had to just sit down and have a long look at the situation and try a few different things with the placement of straps etc. Now I have another idea that I think will be much better. I'm going to have to take the sticky vinyl off and make them separate 6s packs again so I can share them with other helis but I have a cunning plan that should make life even easier on the Rave.

In all fairness Don, the 700x is a good heli, worlds apart from the smaller stuff, i first saw it in Venlo and really wanted to take the **** but it was a shock when looking over it and talking with James Haley how good it was, ok its not got anything innotive on it but is a solid heli, my biggest problem with it was the pricing, again Eflite got it so wrong, but you can pick these up in the combo form for £600-700 requiring just esc and batteries to fly them if you haggle enough.
