So did anyone pluck up the courage to have a go at this? I would be interested to hear some opinions on how it went.

          Not sure about Steve?

Will make it more fun, with a good group of people.
I'd love to give it a go. After watching the F3C comp at the Nats, I think that style of flying is of more interest to me than 3D (also can't do 3D!!!)
Love the big loops, stall turns, autos etc.

I had the best intentions at the beginning of the year, renewed my AHA membership as a competitor etc. I went to the season opener at Gumley and flew a bit. Then we had the wettest April, the 2nd wettest June, engineering works on the trains that essentially prevented me even going to the Tring or Bexhill events as a spectator, etc. So I eventually realised there was no way I was going to get in enough practice or even be able to get to any of the events if I did feel ready :-(

I may yet get to see one of the comps this year as a spectator but I basically gave up as obstacles were thrown in my path at every turn and at the end of the day it needs to be fun.

I got talking to Steve and Matt at the Nats and I think i'm up for it, not this year now but certainly next year. Plus as everyone has pointed out in the earlier posts flybarless are now allowed although I was considering using my 600 as flybarred and setting it up for 3c. it was really interesting looking at te setups of these helis and how they differed from out 3D setup machines, particularly around the pithch and throttle curves. Matt Reuben was a joy to talk to and was astonishingly willing to share setup info. (Lovely TX Matt!)

I think i would be extremely bad at F3C but i'd certainly love to give it a go. Mind you, started in F3A so maybe like 'going home'
