  • SWRCH Grassroots Christmas competition

    Hi all
the swrch club are now looking to run a special Christmas grassroots 3d competition for up and coming 3d pilots.
The event will be held on the 29th December Saturday at Phoenix model aviation near bath, as this has full inside facilities were food and drinks can be provided.
We also have a weather backup plan to run the event on the Sunday if required.
Camping ison site if needed and electric hook up can also be provided if required as well as charging, sim, repair facilities.
This competition will follow the 3dformat grassroots layout flying a sets round and freestyle round, then a top 5 fly off.
We have some great judges lined up inc the Smith brothers, Jamie Cole and hopefully the first ever grassroots winner Peter Gray (Pedro), and hopefully another guest judge tba,
We will need 10 pilots to make the event viable to run, and we have 2 already confirmed from our local club.
You do not require a bmfa A or b test but will require your caller to have a b if not, callers can be provided if needed.
You will need proof of bmfa or rcha insurance to fly.
Entry price is TBC but expected to be £20 to go toward trophy costs and we hold to have a raffle as well.
Hopefully also with Jamie Cole there we will get a nice rotor world write up and pictures.
Please comment or pm me with interest for the event, and if we get enough will launch official entries later this month
    cheers
    James

Will put the link up later, but google 3dformat and you will find it.
Freestyle is NOT to music, just a straight free style flight, and yes Sam you should enter

We appreciate that to some £20 may seem a little prohibitive, but that is the usual entry fee for a grassroots competition. As James has said there are costs involved in setting this up, and you have to admit Martin SWRCH club fee,s are hardly going to cover it.

Come on mate, will be fun and the ideal thing with it just being after Christmas is that there will be tons of tins of all sorts of treats around.
There will be a BBQ too and hot drinks will be avaliable
