  • Problem going in a true straight line.

I've had this problem for a while now, basically it's this, when you go forward cyclic the heli slightly Crabs it to the left, example, the nose is at the 1 O'Clock position and the tail is at 7 O'Clock, the same goes for going backwards just viser versa.

Plus she "rudder spins" in anti clockwise fast and much slower clockwise, I've spoken to Elite models and they seem to think somethingsgone out of phase, but I was wondering if any of you guys have an idea whats needed to be done.

As I'd rather have a go at home and see if I could have a stab at it, I've checked the swash and that's sitting flat, the guide bar is withing the holder ok and the linkage arms from the swash to the lower rota Assembly are all straight and connected with no probs'

Looking at the heli from Tail In, the left servo does seem to move the swash at an angle slightly, but if I cyclic stick top right on the controller then the s/plate goes forward perfectly, I haven't tried this in flight as I haven't the room.

Any ideas at this stage would be great before she goes back to the shop while under warranty.

    Thanks.

never come across this one wayne. does the heli fly straight with the body at an angle??? or do you mean the heli lifts off and flys fwrd/rght with body straight??

if its the latter and you can't adjust it with trims pop the links off the swash and screw the left one down half a turn and the right one up half a turn... see if that straightens it up.

Thanks Ron, yes that's right she fly's straight but at nose at 1 O'clock, Tail 7 O'clock position, plus it's making for some shoddy flying and general control.

It wasn't until after flying in the gym with no limits with space, then flying back in the house has it made me realise just ho bad this is.

Funny thing is I have her set where she doesn't spin while in hover, toilet bowl or anything, yet a simple forward flight is trouble, plus say you go "forward" where the body is on the pee, when you stop she almost rubber bands back a few feet, that's the best way I can describe it.

I'll have a go at turning one servo arm, (right one) half of a turn and see if that balances things out, but if this has you stumped then I know I have a real issue here.

I'll write and tell you how it went tomorrow after I've done a few test flights.

      Cheers mate

PS, Sorry, yes she lifts off fine, then it becomes a handful.

Now you mention it the left servo does rub on the plastic outer body, but not enough to cause a problem.

I did have a twitchy right servo a while back which was sourced at the wires which go into the plugs then the 4in1 box.

The more I think about it the best route would be let the guys at the shop sort it out, it's still under warranty until late July, so let them work it out.

Thanks for your help here mate

I never got chance to experiment with the right servo linkage arm, but Tail in, (as you said before) the nose is pointing at the 1 O'clock position, if I half turn the right arm up this might pull the nose a little straighter, or it might take a full 360, but I'll be flying at the gym on Sunday, again so I'm going to wait and post it off next week, but looking at this from the "not sure what I'm talking about" point, it might pull the nose to the left to make it fly straight.

Again I'll post tomorrow as to any success, and again, thanks for the help bud'.
