    Yes Paul the 120SR

I cannot find swash links on the site could these be the item? E Flite BLH3115 - Blade 120 SR Rotor Head Linkage Set (4)

Thanks for your advice about throttle hold. I kind of over my head but if you know the procedure in setting that up I would be grateful if you could give me a link on how to do it?

Yes, the E Flite BLH3115 - Blade 120 SR Rotor Head Linkage Set (4) is the ones I meant... sorry. Just used my terminology!

I don't know if you have seen this before but I found it a little late in my learning and really wished I had found it right at the beginning... it is a great web site for beginners and I high recommend buying his books.

RC Helicopters, The Most Fun And Rewarding Of All RC Hobbies.

It is written by John Salt and I found his explanations easy to understand and it has helped me enjoy the learning process.

He has a number of eBooks for sale. Whether you buy them or not is a personal choice and I know that many do think they are worth having. I do though and I have bought a few of them now. They aren't expensive and give a great grounding in most of the stuff you have been asking about. These are the ones I have and recommend...

      Beginners Guide To RC Helicopters
Getting The Most Out Of Your mSR/X & 120SR

      and later I got
Setup & Tips For RC Helis

I like the books but there is a great tutorial on learning to fly that is free on that web site. Well worth using as the basis for your learning process IMO. It worked (is working!) for me!

Thanks for your advice about throttle hold. I kind of over my head

Yes,, it won't mean much now I am sure. But it is all explained on that web site and ask about it before you get too far into learning to fly. It is worth the effort I assure you.

Well as some of you know I received the Blade120 and the Dx6i but I had to return them this morning as I was unable to bind them

But that has not stopped this Bug I have.

I have also just bought a Blade mSR X BNF heli with AS3X. I wanted this so I can practice a lot in the house. I thought the 120 SR was a little big for that.

            Paul, great!

I too thought the 120SR was a little too big for indoors and I only fly it outdoors now. Never flown the MSRX. Heard it is good though.

Let's hope you have better luck this time

Not a good start ! After returning the items to Wheel Spin they are telling me that there is nothing wrong with them. He said I may Not have been following the procedure correctly as he was able to bind them!

              This is what I done
              1. Dx61 Off
              2. Insert battery into heli.
3 Wait until red light flashes repeatedly
              4. Hold switch Up on Dx6i and turn on.
              5 " BIIND" flashes on DX6i

After this they did Not bind !

For this guy to say I did not do it correctly is annoying. When trying to bind I stood away from the heli at different distances without success.

              What to do now

I didn't ask before but did you hold the switch up and look for the red light to go solid. Only when it has gone solid do you release the switch... or after about 10 secs when it is obvious it is not binding.

Well, if you did all that then it looks to me like you were doing correctly!!!

Yes the red light just flashed quickly, repeatedly. I work with this type of thing everyday. I use Honey RF room stats.

Well I got the Blade 120SR and the DX6i back from Wheel Spin today. That would be good news you would think? NO! They would still NOT bind.

So I phoned them to be told " Your doing it wrong" But no I was Not ! I tryed to bind them while on the phone to them explaining everything I was doing and still it would NOT bind.

I traveled to a model shop in Bangor and asked the owner to have a look at them and he did so and then said " There's a problem with them".

He got a new Blade 120SR from his shop and set up my Dx6i to bind to it and guess what? IT BINDED !

After a talk with the owner he said that he would send it back to Horizon Hobby and get it replaced

I phoned Wheel Spin again and they said to send it back. ( Not an offer to replace it, but that they would send it of to Horizon Hobby) It has already cost me £17 to post it the first time and to be honest I am discussed !!!!!!

I am so grateful to the owner of the Bangor shop Icarus Models who has taken the matter out of my hands and I look forward to a future with him and his shop

Some shops are a pain when things go wrong. If you ask about a shop on here you'll get lots of advice. Well done for sorting it out through the model shop, you could also find someone local or do a video. If you can say that a heli won't bind but another one will that tends to win the argument a you did. I've got an msrx and its very good at moving quickly, but it's not so easy to hovering as the msr. It's more difficult to land and take off than the msr and the battery doesn't last as long. It can be a bit strange to turn with the rudder and can go backwards. It is much happier outside in a light wind though and it is flybarless which will help you later. The most important thing is it survives most crashes. Bigger helis don't. The msrx is good indoors and in a gym, whereas the msr isn't so good at forward flight. The 130X looks very good though. OK in a gym and flies like a 450. This hobby is very addictive though and gets better and harder the more you learn.

Wheel Spin Models were a nightmare and well as I said I have learned a lesson.

Regarding the Msrx I am having real trouble hovering it Even before it has left the ground its flying away to the left but was up in the air around 2 feet it is fine. BUt keeping it in one position is a bit of work and then just when I am getting to grips with it the battery runs out O the joys...
