dont even mention it to the wife, a lot of others will agreeOriginally posted by Garth84x View Postnow to try and convince the wife.....
But welcome to the forum and a great hobby. The blade 120 will be a very good heli for you to start with, teach you the basics, and it'll make that jump to a 6 channel heli that little bit easier.

E-Flite Blade 120 SR / DX6i Special Mode 2
id get this 1 if your going to continue in this hobby reasons is the dx6i transmitter will transfer to your next hel and the next and the next its a great transmitter and will let you use it with the simulators it mite seem a little expensive but the dx6i hold there money so if you decide to stop flying thats 1 bit of kit that will get you some cash back
if you dont want this id get the rtf vertion are you will have a heli and no transmitter to fly it with

RTF = Ready to Fly - ie .comes with everything, including (basic) transmitter.Originally posted by Garth84x View PostIm quite interested in the 120 sr, but in confused by some adverts online 120 sr rtf, 120sr bnf or something like that?
Which is the one for me please?
BNF = Bind 'n fly - ie.comes with just the heli - assumes you have your own transmitter.
Mode 2 or mode 1 describes how the controls work on the transmitter. I would say that Mode 2 is pretty much the norm these days, which is :-
Left stick : throttle/collective + rudder
right stick : cyclic (aileron + elevator)
Your easiest starting point would be an RTF mode 2 version.
Funnily enough - exactly what I bought back in May this year!

To expand on this a little. The DX6i is a very popular computerised radio. It can control up to 10 different models, and you can adjust many flight parameters within it's menu. It really is a brilliant first transmitter. I got one with my second helicopter, and still use it now. If you really think that flying helis is for you, you will save money in the long term by investing in a good transmitter from the off. The bundle mentioned here is a special from this store which is essentially the Bind N Fly 120SR + a DX6i computerised radio - in effect a "custom" RTF package with a good radio.Originally posted by aparkin View PostE-Flite Blade 120 SR / DX6i Special Mode 2

If however you're on more of a budget, the standard RTF package is alot cheaper :E-Flite Blade 120 SR RTF M2
However, the radio you get here, is for the 120SR only. It's very basic, and ultimately, won't take you any further. But it will get you flying initially cheaper.
As you'll soon discover .. there's way too many choices with this hobby!
Cheers. T.Tom
