Hello everyone, ive just got into rc helicopters thanks to my father in law, who got a T34 for his birthday.

Took it out in the garden and guess what? I love it !! had a few tries with it, i found it hard at first until we set it up properly, now it flys easily.

I feel quite confident with the T34, and as its my fathers in laws i like a helicopter of my own so question is whats the next step in the helicopter world?

Also are there any other members from or near southampton that have meets i could tag along to for a chat?

Hi Garry. There is a meet this sat. See the Southampton meet thread. Everyone is welcome, last week was my first time and I was made to feel very welcome, there are levels of all flyers there and it's a good crack. Introduce yourself on the thread, Discoferret organises it and he'll send you directions I'm sure. Maybe see you there. Shaun

Never heard of a T34, so googled it! Are you talking about this one? http://www.amazon.co.uk/T-34-Series-.../dp/B003XS8OFY

If so, if you're looking to get your own heli - you might want to consider getting a slightly more advanced (4-channel) heli like a Blade MCX2 or 120SR. They won't be quite as easy as the 3-channel heli you've been playing with up until now - but they'll be capable of a lot more! They'll provide a better stepping stone into the full-size 6-channel helis too.

Exactly how many of us got into this! Personally, my first heli was a Syma 3-channel indoor thing for Christmas! Nothing to be sad about! I kinda like the fact that these little birds introduce many to this hobby. Those that find it fun, like yourself, will almost certainly move onwards and upwards (!)

Wait to you see the ones the other guys fly when you meet up with them at the weekend! The "Goblin" in particular makes an amazing sounds IMHO. Just remember - everyone starts somewhere!

Bang on there Tom, my introduction into heli's was a Syma S107 Got me hooked! Some real nice bits of kit the guys have, Goblin is just epic!! No doubt you will be changing your xmas list. My B400 was mean't to be for xmas, GF let me have it early Not been off the ground yet , first attempts at hovering will be Saturday.
