My Thunder Tiger Raptor 30 V2 is on the way - Advice Needed on Parts Please
Up to now bought the heli, DX7, flight sim and a 401 with 9254, all from members here on this site. Thanks to everyone for their time help and advice, much appreciated.
Do I need to swap out the servos that will come with the DX7 as mentioned above. Also, the DX7 is mode 2, is this ok.
i appologise for flaming marks sales pitch. dont know if his thanks was genuine! but i dont think its fair to cast doubt over a very good radio just to try and get a sale, especially in the beginers forum[/quote]
he might be new but he's not 10, i do hope it read how it was intended tonge and cheek , if u look at my add it blatently says i have a dx7. and if thats u giving me a flaming u'll have to try harder bud cus i'm 2 used to switching off from my missis ranting at me
mode 2 is the most common one, with aileron and elevator (ie the cyclic channels) on the right stick, and throttle/collective and rudder on the left stick (ie the stick without the spring is up and down and on the left).
Mode 1 is with the throttle ansd aeleron on the right and rudder and elevator on the left. It comes from when folks had a two single axis stick tx where the right one only went side to side, and the left one only went up and down.
mode 2 is by far the most popular for helis, and in fact overall for aircraft.
Mode 1 has its enthusiasts though.
Some folks who fly fixed wing on mode1 actaully fly helis mode 2 (I think they are daft, and its amazing they don't crash!).
while it is not supposed to be possible to swap the mode of the dx7 I am sure it would be possible to unplug the stick units and swap the cables over to make it work in either mode, but its not an easy software reset and swap the ratchet onto the other stick like most transmitters.
This means there are a few mode 1 DX7s out there bought in error and going cheap second hand!
And by the way you are better with a 7 channel tx with the nitro heli as you might well want 7 channels later, though 6 will do for most electrics.
