I think you can use the Tx that comes with a Blade CX2 on Phoenix sim - killing two birds with one stone - it gets you a heli to fly in your front room, and a Tx to use with the Sim.

If you decide you like the hobby and want to go forward, you could always sell the Blade and it's Tx, buy the relevant heli and a better Tx and away you go.

    Cheers,

Forget the Honey Bee. Pal's got one. Gone back to the shop to get it sorted.

I think the Blade or a Twister Medevac will be just fine for a first heli.

They are great indoors & outdoors in total calm. Cheap to repair & are 'real' which a sim is not.

I would only buy a sim when you go onto a bigger heli & need to practice before you crash too much. Crash the co-axials first...cheap to repair & fun.

Im learning on a twister medivac, twister cp and a Real Flight G3 (sim), iv been flying for about 4-5 months now and i can nose in and fly circuits reasonably confidently.

i also have a TRex 450 but that is kept safe for a special occasion.

            this combo works for me
            (OUTSTANDING!)

Why do people always say this ?

The CX2 has HUGE potential for training. I've said this loads of times but when you think you can handle the CX2 then simply try and fly it nose in, tail in, side on, in a slight breeze, Circuits etc. etc. for a newbie that little lot will have you practicing for a few months and by then you'll have a sim and hopefully saved some cash for your first outdoor heli.

I'm now the proud owner of a blade cx2... my folks are picking it up 2moro but i'm not allowed it until Christmas day...

                Can't wait.....

Not going to bother with a Sim for now...don't really want to pay £70 for Phoenix... unless someone wants to sell me one cheap!!!!!. Let me know. are there any other cheap or free one that I could use for now??

If I pick it up and enjoy then i'll get Phoenix and then a big heli!!!!..... watch this space!!!!

do you know the type of cable you get with headphones, the one with the smaller end?

Well I am pretty sure you can get a double male ended one of those, plug it into your microphone socket, and with some free software you can make your pc and radio talk together without having to buy any fancy leads. That'll do for FMS at least. Some other simulators require there own special lead to be used.

                      Morning all,

So, Santa did bring me a helicopter this year...

I unpack my Blade CX2 on Christmas morning, put on the training gear and try to fly it..... I hit a table and the heli wont fly anymore...

After a few repairs, mainly straightening the lower blades and re aligning the swash plate everything seems to be ok. It still seem to be drifting forward and to one side but I think a little fine tuning I will get to the point of been able to get it into a stable hover.

I’m now onto the 3rd set of blades of clipping various objects but that was down to a mixture of excitement, trying to show off and alcohol. – I have now learnt to be more careful.

Off to the local model shop for more blades on Saturday and then perseverance I think until I have mastered the hover.

Get yourself 2 packs of upper and two packs of lower blades to get yourself started.

PS the more space you have to fly in the less blades you will break.

Hello and welcome to the forum...I think your cool avatar depic's the possible resulting aftermath of starting off with a Raptor Titan 50. If you want to buy one buy one. If you'd rather save your cash for now the invest in a good sim and decent tx that will do for the sim aswell as future helicopters and get to grips in the virtual world. The alternatives are the CX2 etc which yes are easy to fly but nothing like a genuine 450, .30 or larger. If you have a local flying club maybe go and meet up and see if someone will do some training using the buddy system.
                            Cheers

Can anyone else see a pattern here..

Sorry Paul but my money would be spent on a sim "FIRST" not when I have trashed my heli.

Unfortunately more crashes will occur until you spend many hours on a sim learning to fly first.

                                Happy New Year..
