  • Where does everyone purchase from?

Bit of a broad topic I know but wanted to get some idea of the best and most reliable places people are purchasing their kit from.
At the moment I have the radio gear and Gootch 450 SE kit but I am unsure of where to get the rest. I see so many different post on advise on what to install but when I then search the net, the price differences are sometimes quite extreme. Are the great deals that can be found via e.g. china worth it or are they obvious fake parts that will not last five minutes. On the others extreme, I also do not want to spend out on the expensive version just to be safe when I could of made a saving?

Ok for lipo's i use hobby king (china) there amazing value for money and last way longer than most other lipos i have used including flight power and revo and align, however still cant beat my first overlander pack that is about 8-9 years old and still not puffed lol and it does not even have a balance lead, work that out (3s)??

Fast-lad website is about the best and service is great

Skyline is local to me so i will use them if i want to go get the parts but the website and delivery is all a bit naff

But there are quite a few, 90% of the time i will use fast lad just due to there website being the best.

places that have real time stock levels, and those that tend to have all the things i need. One of my pet hates is having to split orders - i'll even pay little more for that convience.

          Retailers take note

In no particular order of preference:-

            Midlands Helicopters
            Fast Lads
            Blade Heli Spares
            TJD Models
            Als Models
            Align co uk
            Wings Wheels & Rotors
            Hobby King
Been there and done that, but never stop learning.
Now too many Helis to mention?

i use Midlands 90% of the time because the website is the best, and they now offer midland heli's credit card, so it makes buying so much easier.

Trevor and Tim went to town on Midland's site recently and Phil and I have been putting hours into revolution's site.

I think both are better than fast-lads so what is it that makes you think its the best ? What are we missing ?

I used the MH website recently and I found that there were still many products that didn't have pictures for the products. I know it might not be very practical to have pictures for everything, but it certainly helps me find what I'm looking for if it's something random.

If i am looking for something random I will sometimes use the FL website to find it as they usually have all the pictures, then see if I can get it elsewhere once I'm sure of what it is I'm after. (I had a few bad experiences with FL in the past). That's my user experience anyway

But to answer the OP. I normally use align-trex for most things. If he hasn't got what you want, Raj will almost definitely get it for you! And at a great price too. For connectors, lipos and random stuff it's usually HK.

For me it's Hobbyking mainly for Lipos and bits n bobs.

Heli kits and anything expensive, servos etc from Century-rc,rc711,or flying hobby.

Last on the list the main UK stockists if none of the above can supply.

No problems with any of my suppliers ever.

Who ever is cheapest and has them in stock.

Usually airframes/kits from Honk Kong and spares from Align-trex.

Gone are the days of Customer Loyalty I'm afraid.

I am a Fastlads regular, and over the years I have found then to be excellent. (not saying others are not). Any problems have been resolved quickly and I have found they stick to their Company ethos, ie Fast, and u are kept up to date on status, always get a tracking number if u order by UPS etc.

The main reason reason for using them initially was the stock levels on their website. Good to see other companies following suit.
