Finally plucked up the courage to take my 450 out for its first proper flight today
Did a 6 minute run of gentle flying about quite happily, Legs were shaking like a sh**ing dog but a great first flight with fast forward flight, turns, nose in hovering and everything
Then put the second pack in, did about 3 minutes then dumb thumbed it into the ground pretty hard on its side
The damage:
Main blades
feathering shaft
flybar
main shaft
tail boom
lower frame
bottom plate
motor mount
skid tube
The canopy will go again with a few scars to remind me
There don't appear to be any broken servos so thats a result
I came home a bit gutted but relieved in a way as the fear of the first crash was holding me back a bit
No pics it looked pretty hideous so i came home and ripped it to bits and replaced shafts and flybar etc as i had them
The satisfaction of the first flight far outweighs the outcome of the second so don't be sad for me people
Its the first "Step" of the learning curve
I'm going shopping now
