I agree with the above, start with something like the CX2 then its up to Mini Titan or T Rex 450 money im afraid or for a similar price a Nitro bird

Most of the cheap electric helis are a disaster although i will admit they bring a lot of people into the hobby, just dont buy a Turkey

so there is no such thing as a fixed pitch helicopter that is good outdoors? I need an outdoor one as there is no room indoors!!!

So what is the Esky Belt CP like outdoors? How hard are they to fly?

          no

The helicopters that fit your requirements cost about £500+

so what we're saying is for your budget you cant have what you want.

so your options....save up buy a good little electric heli e.g t-rex 450 or mini titan. (this fits ur requirments!)

or settle with a contra rotating heli....e.g. blade CX2

anouther option could be to go straight into a 30/50 size nitro as for not alot more cash than a t-rex this can be had. if u choose this option, i'd recomend phoenix to practise on while u save!

          cheers,
          Tom

I hear the Esky i good outdoors. Couldn't i just practise at low altitudes with that for a while?

its definatly posible....just will end up costing you lots of money and will be a bit of a rough ride into the helicopter world!

get it set-up right and it can be stable....

The Belt-CP is ok flown outside - it is too big to be flown inside a normal sized house.

I am sure the ones from RCscale are shipped from Hong Kong and the postage is around £20 and comes with charge+UK adaptor (very loose fit).

Anything smaller than the Belt-CP/Trex 450 size and you will struggle to fly outside UNLESS in NO wind conditions
                Futaba 7C 2.4ghz Tx, R617FS Rx (x2)
                Trex 500CF - 5S, GY401, HS-5245MG+9257
                Belt-CP - Logictech 2100T, CC 35A ESC 3xSG90 cyclic/Futaba tail servos
HoneyBee FP - trimmed main/tail rotors (It won't die!)

im all confused now! What makes you think they are from hong kong? It says 2-4 days shipping from the UK? What would you do if you had £130 and wanted an outdoor one?

The Belt CP is .... at best....very poor quality in my experience and a simple crash will cause you an awful lot of heartache as you find yourself replacing many many parts. It's cheap but very very annoying.

By the way JT ..... I wrote a little doc and it got turned into a Sticky for new people coming in....read this.... http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7193

its the same with everything pay a bit more and get better but i only want to spend around £130 because i think thats enough to see if i like it etc. But even still i want something that will be good outside and last

Well if it is PERFECTLY calm then use a CX2. However that's not realistic as your flying will be severly limited to once in a blue moon.
I'm afraid you can't have everything and at that budget I'd say an outdoor heli is not an option.

                                Anyone wish to comment ?
