helis dont last. i paid £480 for my raptor50. it now stands me at a total of £850. never crashed it or had a hard landing.
buy the esky belt cp and be done with it.
get it from the same seller i got mine from. it has the training gear and everthing included.
i fly my belt cp in up to 10mph winds. its the wind gust that will cause you trouble.
ive heard the belt cp doesnt like taking knocks but that goes with all helis.
im in process of teaching my uncle on a twister v2. he cant even hover and just wants to fly it around. already cost him£50 in spares.
i started and learned with a century hummingbird v3 fixed pitch heli about 3 years ago. that cost me £160 for the heli and i must of spent another £150 in spare parts.

what ever you get is going to cost you money.
get the belt cp. it only takes a week from hongkong and ive never been charged any tax. i always buy from hongkong - never had a problem
cheers

Cheaper ? Well your budget is £130....
Read the bit I posted for new people coming into the hobby.... you'll realise that £130 is merely the begining. It's unfortunate but you're not going to be able to fly much or for very long on £130. There is another option....approach a club and see if they have a trainer/instructor there who will let you have a supervised trial flight ?!
I won't comment on the Belt CP further.... My personal experience was bad.Last edited by Bubblefish777; 28-10-2007, 11:06 PM.*** CX2 with extra Bling *** STATUS

probably be an ok heli, just need someone with a bit of tech knowledge to set it up as i doubt very much that it will fly true out of the box.

I bought a Honeybee FP from RCscale (£18 postage) and it turned up with Hong Kong stickers all over it i.e. shipped direct from HK
It still worked out slightly cheaper than 'normal' UK pricesFutaba 7C 2.4ghz Tx, R617FS Rx (x2)

People buy many different brands of helicopters for different reasons. Price, quality, spares availability. Many people jump on certain 'trendy' helis and will have nothing bad said against them. Some fly better than others (IN THE RIGHTS HANDS), some may be cheap, some spares are easier to source, etc, etc.
You only really have one choice if you want to fly outside a CP heli, probably 450 size.
I saw a post on a forum once... buy the best you can afford to crash - Good advice - personally if you are a complete beginner I would go cheap (i.e. Belt-CP RTF), low spares cost and availability.
OK, so the stock radio is crap, but it will get you in the air outside and if setup correctly will fly 'ok'. And if you decide to stick with the hobby, then go for something like a mini titanFutaba 7C 2.4ghz Tx, R617FS Rx (x2)

Blade CX2, Twister Medivac, or the like seriously, i know thats already been said but its the best way, with your money, unless you go to about £600 and by a 30/50 size nitro and join a club. Honestly some of us on here know what we are talking about ( dunno if that includes me or not )-I don't crash, I just land with enthusiasm.
A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly
And a DX8 too
