  • Flybar vs Flybarless!

    Hi,

Just wondering what peoples opinions are on this, I'm very new to Heli's and I have basically been learning on my 450x which is flybarless. Now some people say learning on flybarless is more difficult some say it's cheating and way easier than learning with a flybar! I'm just wondering as I'm thinking my next step up would be to a 600 nitro for club flying with a flybar.

    Opinions welcomed :-)

I'm all for flybarless. It's cheap to convert now if you want, and it makes setting up and repairing so much easier. And you can adjust the way it flies by software/electronically.

I'd not bother with flybar anymore, really. It's not cheating, makes flying easier and more enjoyable and there is less parts in the head.

I've no experience with flybar Heli's tbh however after having a major crash a few days ago on my 450x it's been a joy to repair and setup again and it's also a joy to fly.

I have both, and like both. Pros and cons to each, but apart from the slight difference to take off and landing techniques I don't think it will make much difference whilst learning.
Might as well get used to it, it's the future!

Hehehe get ready for about 3 pages of arguments about FB against FBL ;P Personally i think there is nothing wrong with a flybared heli as my 450 is and it flys perfect in 3D and in sport flight, but flybarless is nice and it does help with the holding of the heli in the air and it can save space on the airframe as i think the new Beast-X unit has a receiver built in hope this helps

                Thanks John

Ive just bought a Fusion 50 heli and ive gone for flybar, just because its cheaper to start with, but when i'm up and flying properly i'll charge it for Flybarless. makes it look more like a real helicopter LOL

It's cheating and you should be ASHAMED of yourself.

ive been back and forward from fbl to flybarred, im un decided, there things my fbl struggle witth, but things its good at, but if ur going for some on the deck snappy stuff its flybarred all the way in my opinion, i will leave the thread to take it arguementitive course now lol

but my final bit, try flying a fbl machine with a vibration, it will ruin your day, try flying a flybarred machine with a vibration, your still be flying!!! lol

I agree with Pete. The snappy stuff is better with a flybar but if you want a heli that does big moves with ease then fbl is the way forward. There are many pro's and con's to both. I would say try it and see if you like it. :
