    Yep - like a dead-stick landing with a plank.
Once youre at ten feet with no headspeed, youre committed.
Cool & trendy & great fun, when you're confident!
Till then, I prefer to say "hang on - I'm gonna try that again"!

As a beginner my landings are usually a bit raggy but seeing as my heli is usually near the ground anyway I try to bring it down gently and controlled as best I can onto a book or coffee table - all the time fighting against ground effect. When I achieve a smooth, scale-like landing, the sense of self-achievement is immense.

Having just got back into Heli's after a 4-5 year lay off (planks) and was only flying slow circuits then with a Raptor 30 v2, I bought my self a MCPX, started learning to hover again, nose in etc, and powered landings. Now progressed to a TArot 450pro v2, and the New Blade 450X, again for landings each is under power on landings, and i have never had a problem at all, apart from the odd bumpy one with the little MCPX.

It's all in the control and reactions, if its dropping, increase the lift slightly and visa versa.

Not into the Auto style, which maybe lends itself more to the 3D gods... (never seen a real Heli auto on every landing lol)

I try to (hope) land at a speed and angle that won't damage anything.

Actually - I seem to like landing sideways on, right on the blades.
