I think it depends on how often you can fly. Just before it gets dark there's often not much wind and an mcpx over grass would be very survivable. If you have to fly at fixed times you'll need a 450 or bigger. A 450 is ok up to about 10mph and then gets difficult up to about 15mph. Bigger helis will handle more wind.

Computer radio is a must. I got the guys at my club to setup the heli and tested it and it was great. Now in a position where every 3 batteries I knock 5% or so of expo of and get used to it being ever more sensitive. Im at 20% now and still feel in control. Even though I'm only hovering and doing gentle crosses but I can fly out 3 or 4 batteries without more than a touchdown to change it
If u can afford I'd go for a dx7i straight off but at minimum a 6i is cool and it's what I'm using ok

Correct they are two different helis .

My original post was incorrect - I said that the Blade SR wasn't a CP helicopter but it is. I have now edited my post to make it clearer .

The whole range of Blade helis can be found here: Helis: Blade - #1 By Design

Of course these are not your only options but I always recommend these to beginners especially.

I just got the mcpx with the dx6i radio and seems to be a good learning combination I have had a load of soft indoor crashes (the couch, the bean bag, the carpet) and the mcpx just seems to keep going. Highly recommen this combination.
