Took Fastarse out to a field today.

Now I'm wondering what Blizzard (120SR) will be like in that field?

Gonna be ages before I'm ready for anything bigger than Blizzard.

Hi V........the 120SR will be a step backwards from the MCPx.
I have got a couple and they are really only any good outside if it is dead calm.
I have one that I have 'modded' by putting the batt in the canopy with velcro and have lost the skids as well.
Looks mean as hell and is very fast indoors in a sports hall type environment.
If I were you I would stick with the MCPx with a view to getting some sort of 450/500.

Thanks, ChickenHawk. Fastarse says next time he'a out in the field he's going to keep an eye out for your namesakes. I told him a Sparrow Hawk would more likely be his problem

This is public thank you. The batteries arrived safe and sound today and I can't thank you enough for your kindness. Lil' Larry (aka Fastarse) and me can now have long periods of practice while I learn and Larry tolerates my dropping him to the deck with good grace.

I'm still practicing at the moment. Sure isn't an easy hobby to learn but the rewards will be great, I believe.

Indeed. Why it is I still cannot quantify but I suppose it has to do with satisfying the same centres of the brain as mastering a sport like tennis or golf but with the added adrenaline rush of overting disaster on a regular basis (until eventually you stare disaster in the face and laugh, for you have aquired 'the right stuff', or something along those lines) .

Can't even practice at the moment to feel the thrill (simulated). Got a new food slicer today and in removing the protective tape over the main blade I managed to slice my right thumb open. Put a plaster on it thinking to myself 'Damn but that blade's sharp.'

Got the tape off the other bits and bobs and in putting it back together, yep, you guessed it - sliced my left thumb open on the same ruddy blade. So I'm sat here prodding characters on my iPad and looking forlornly at my Mac and the plasters on the pads of each of my thumbs (snivel).

Oh goodness that's unlucky! Now's the perfect time to learn to pinch the sticks, hah. I recently had a bit of a thumb-user identity crisis but having learned some top pilots do it am no longer worries. Too many console games in my past to not start with my thumbs.

Hope your thumbs recover soon, they're bloody useful things. (y)
