    ROFL

I'm only taking the mickey (out of Century) mate
I downloaded and watched the video of Adam (Turner) throwing it about for a few minutes and it looked like it performed quite well to me.

It won't be an SE V2, but for the money it costs, I'm hardly suprised.
I'd be happy to see one in the flesh and blag a go off it's owner...
    Cheers,
    Rob

Your probably not wrong there if the Mini Pred is as bad as stated before.

But the price tells you it isn't going to be up to Align standards, I'm not daft I know there the best, but for someone wanting that extra something and who can't afford a budget Rex system this is the next best thing.

Look at it this way at least Century have spent the money on better build quality and sacrificed the digital control system, whereas the Blade 400 has the newer control system but is mostly plastic with a few alloy & bearing parts.

Be fair at least this offers the limited buyer the chance to buy something half decent to upgrade as funds allow in the future.

Honestly guy's I'm not trying to be an arsehole here, you all know far more than I and I respect that, but there's a huge market where people with budget helis could learn a great deal from you guy's which could be put off even before signing up.

I think this place is too good for that to happen IMHO.

you know im no fan of align... however the 450seV2 is the best heli in its size, nothing else in that class that i have flown comes close.

the FP and CP stuff that is smaller than that are rubbish with rubbish mechanics and rubbish electronics. the only small stuff worth flying is contra rotating helis like the CX2. yes they are a little too stable but atleast a total newb stands a chance of being able to fly it without it costing them lots of time and money.

as for the snobbish attitude. all we are doing is telling you the truth what do you want us to do? lie?? then some poor other sod reads the lies and spends his money on one based on it...

          no thanks.

I don't think anyone's being any kind of hole here
The problem that people (myself included) have with budget heli's is they can be quite difficult to get flying nicely due to the cheap and nasty servos, sh1t gyro that doesn't hold the tail if someone farts in the wrong direction, cheap and nasty batteries that cycle 20 times and then fail, and speed controllers that need a lesson in controlling anything, let alone speed - this stuff is out there, unsuspecting people buy it and then they think the hobby sucks because they bought a piece of tat for £200 on ebay.

            I've seen it myself

But it's hard to explain on forums like this one with just words, which is all we have (plus the odd smiley ) - and it gets explained over and over again because people generally can't be bothered to search forum archives (we're all guilty of it - I'm fairly sure) which I guess is why people end up saying, this is crap, buy that instead - because it cuts down the bull and the long threads to-ing and fro-ing about such and such heli.

Granted, this thing is only just out and should not be judged before being seen (which is why I don't judge stuff until I try it myself) - and the video of Adam flying it makes it look pretty reasonable to be fair, so time will tell

Don't take offence though, as none is meant - I'm fairly sure everyone is just here to help and have a laugh. If not, I might have the wrong place
            Cheers,

Adam is a Mikado pilot now, I believe.
He may still fly for Century, not sure... but he's flying Mikado at the comp, that much I know

                        Cheers,

                            Indeed...
As I say, I'm not sure if he still flies anything for Century - I don't know his level of involvement - I just know he's flying Mikado stuff now.

Man, I think I'm gonna buy a Hawk Pro 30 - that thing is awesome

This I believe is going to rock some heads pretty hard, all alloy, everything built ready, OK a cheap TX and receiver is added to get you going, but your have the chance say six months down the line to upgrade to a Spektrum control system.

I feel after watching the heli market for over a year it's going the same way as the telescope business went ten years ago.

Back in 1997 the average astronomer was stunned when they could afford a 4" refrector for under £1000 those type of telescopes even the Acro lens types were the objects of dreams.

Now you can buy a 6" complete system for under £600, looking at the bigger picture RTF's are going to get better as the competition grows, which in turn prices will start to drop, as flying a heli like my BCX2 ten years ago you'd be outlaying over a grand.

I think 2008 is going to be quite an exciting time in the heli flying world, as no one can call this one plastic rubbish.
yea so true about the telescopes. i built a 6" reflector ten years ago, almost had to sell my house just to get a decent mount for it, now it seems they are giving them away.
