  • Mini T set up

I've been looking at the ARTF Mini Titan E325, how much would it cost with the extras, as it states the radio gear needs to be purchased so I guess thats the inboard flight receiver and the Tranny.

This looks at present to be a good choice in CCP flying, any of you chaps know what a complete package price would roughly be?

Many thanks for any help regarding the inquiry.

Well to get you started the kit with esc & motor would be fine.

    Kit+ESC+Motor £169.99
    3x hitec HS65MG servo's @ £20 each
1x digital tail servo - anything from £20 to £60 depending on your choice.
1x Gyro futaba 401 seems to be the mostly used one at around £80-90
2x 11v lipo batterys Revoltions are good @ £32 each
1x Lipo Charger - there are many but the Cellpro 4s is great and is compatible with the revolution battery balancing leads @ £58

Then theres a radio, most seem to be switching to 2.4 ghz as it eliminates glitching. The spektrum DX7 seems to be the leader at the moment around £235 but theres also the futaba 6EX around £170. Both come with receivers and servos but the servos are standard size and wont fit in the mini T.

As you can see it ain't exactly cheap but if you buy good gear to start you shouldn't need to replace it any time soon.

Ball park figure for everything would be around £650 with the cheaper futaba radio & £25 tail servo.

    Fury 55 FBL
    Trex 700

Not sure how well the mini T flys but if your spending that sort of cash would you not be better of with a trex 450 ? i know its prob going to cost a little more but if your spending that much worth a thought

Also, have a look at the Logitech 2100T Gyro at £69 (Fast Lads I think).

Not got one myself but have heard good things about them.

              Cheers

The titan is more stable than a 450 so I am lead to believe and a far better design IMO. I wouldn't swap mine for any other 450 out there at the moment although the dragonus is quite nice.

I've had all three & the mini titan isnt a patch on the 450 se v2 there is no arguement about it it's the worst of the three, the only thing in it's favour is that the fear factor is less because theres not so much money at stake if you bin it.
The trex 450 is soo stable it is unreal & the dragonus isnt as stable & the mini titan is nice but not in the same league this is only my opinion though but I prefer to fly my 450 v2 se over my raptor 50se my trex 600e & my raptor 30 at the moment because it is easyer on me i.e the pilot.
You can also fly closer to yourself without fear hindering your progress.

i was under the impression that the 450 se v2 is the best "small" heli out there ? and when it comes to stable this thing really is very stable not far of hands off!

I disagree. Never flown a 450, that is why I said 'lead to believe' but there is no way the dragonus in my garage can hold a candle to the stability of my titan. The 450 maybe superior but it has a superior price to match so I won't be changing anytime soon. Each to thier own tho

Yeh cost is the big downer on the 450 mate. I was lucky in that I could afford it but the titan would have been just as nice tho I sold it to fund the 450.
The Dragonus Pro II was alot more twitchy than either the titan or the trex but I do have flybar weights on my trex which helps smooth her out.

You should be comparing the mini titan to the trex450S
The trex450SEv2 is in another class.

DX7 radio is a must for small electrics - £189 from inwood with no servos - they might swap the 7 ch rx for a 6ch and make it a little cheaper still.

Logictek 2100Tgyro +Robbe FS61BB for the tail, saves a little cash and performs like the 401/9650

The HS65MG should only be about 18 quid each.

With the mini titian you will want to upgrade the blades probably. The trex450 is a better helicopter from what I have seen.

Yes you can set up with a .30 or .50 IC for almost the same money!

Umm not sure i can agree... i'll quantify...

most people in my club have had a go of mine and are very impressed, they all own a rex of some description - including the SEv2... They like the way the mini-t fly's and is quite capable of 3D - a couple of members have given my mini-t a good workout as i'm no way near this level - and for the cash there arent many models that do 3D outta the box!

Dont get me wrong I like the rex very much, especially the SEv2 - however, i cant justify the cost, and i cant see that metal flight case flying very well, and the tools they supply - who needs'em?

It does look nice tho - and when i can fly a bit better i might get one... Not sure the SEv2 fly's any better than the 450s or the mini-t - spose that comes down to how good the pilot is!

From waht i've seen with these 450 sized heli's, the pilot is the limiting factor and not the model!

The mini-t is well priced, well spec'd and fly's very well - anyone who gets one will not be dissapointed

BMW, Ford, Citroen.... what badge are you?

IC power heli's are smelly, noisy, need more tlc... but they can fly outside in weather i wouldnt dream of flying in with the mini-t... i like the charge and go thing thats why i went for the mini-t!

Many thanks for the great info, but just to let you know It's still a bit more than I want to spend on my first CCP heli and at the moment, so as it stands the 400 will possibly be my first choice.

I know the 450 is much better before it's mentioned.

This reminds me of Hi Fi arguments between Valve and transistor Amp's, you wouldn't believe the snobbery that goes on there, I have Audiolab pre and two mono block amps running through my system, just over a grand in amplification alone, Never mind the £150 worth of bi-wire cable that feeds my two floor standers, each, but I'd never tell someone with more budget equipment that its rubbish.
