    Thanks Darwil.

Good news is, that if something docent work, there is always scope for Duct Tape and an old USB Flash drive.

Take the USB Flash Drive, Duct Tape it to the bottom of the help to add a small weight. Fly it with great success.
Had to shuffle the drive about to get a nice C.O.G. but after a few tweaks i had a successful flight that included some controlled altitude increases and decreases! time to re-charge and have a another go. Only 50 minutes to wait!

I don't want tp dampen your enthusiasm but coax helis like your Syma almost fly themselves compared to a fixed pitch heli and then it's another b i g j u m p to a cp heli so don't get carried away; in the advertising media for that heli it is depicted as an executive toy and that is exactly what it is a toy!
Please take my comments as constructive not destructive - if you want to progress with flying helis have a good look at some of the posts on here about crash costs and their frequency then make your mind up if you can hack it; I couldn't - I now only fly indoor helis (small cheap to repair ones) and fly planes outdoors (because the type I fly are usually fixable with cyano and tape).
Good luck and most of all make sure you enjoy what you are doing!

It hasn't dampened my enthusiasm, and it's not a destructive comment to me. I was fully aware before buyin the coax that a Fp would be a different kettle of fish and although initially I thought about getting a cp first I've settled on getting a fp for now and a sim, see where it goes from there.

Thanks for all the help guys, will keep you updated on what I buy and how I get on

Well Santa finally came and brought me a nice Dx6i and an MCPX!
I was gonna wait for the MSRX but with the late release and so on i didn't think it would reach me in time so decided i would just jump straight up the the MCPX. If its really that difficult ill invest in an MSRX in the new year.

Some may say its too advanced for me but so far im doing not too bad, got it off the ground and into a hover in 4 batteries, limited by the indoor space i have at the moment as my "flying" room is currently a bedroom while we have family staying for the festive season. hope to get outside or into the garage tomorrow and see if i can do a bit more.

So thanks for everyones input a few weeks back, this has got me hooked for some time now!

Hope everyones had a fab day and santa was good to you all too

          Cheers

Well I am not the type to tell people "told you so"..... but I told you so!

Good choice. Once you get in the garage you will be progressing loads. Oh... and it handles wind not too bad - so get in the garden the first calmish day.

A word of caution, venture into the garden but be very careful if you're not good friends with the neighbours - continually pestering them for retrieving your heli can be annoying!!! ask me how I know?

                Thanks Guys,

Neighbours not so much a problem, its my lil bro out the back of me and none to 1 side of the house so if i keep it away from the one neighbour ill be fine. Failing that my folks have 8/9 acres of privately owned land and their neighbours are the cows and sheep. so plenty flying space there if i need it.

looks like it'll be too windy today so i might be heading for the garage
