  • Hi New Pilot Here

Hi my name is matt and i have just bought my first Heli, had a few issues, but the hobby store i bought it from has set it up well for me, had a few flights yesterday and smashed up the canopy and today decided to take it out side, no wind on lift off but hovering around and a sudden gust caught it, needless to say it now needs a new tail assembly. All parts are ordered. Its an Align Trex 100 combo kit. Was wondering if there are any local clubs or meets, so i can gain more experience and learn a little from other more experienced members. im based in Reading Berkshire

cheers all and thank you for taking the time to read my little essay

hey thanks for the replys guys, had another little accident at 4am this morning, i was hovering the heli around my office and landed on the floor, took off again and less than 10 sec later the heli started flying completely out of control, cut the power and watched it drop, the heli managed to pick up a hair belonging to my girlfriend, which wrapped its self completly round the tail rotor almost ripping the blade in 2

It is, but the reason it can do more is that it's a CP heli, rather than FP like the 100.
MCPX would definitely be a logical next step from the 100

i was thinking it might be, the next thing im gonna get is some upgrades from the 100, metal head and swash plate, carbon fibre flybar and i have also heard that putting on the tail rotor from an mcpx will also make the 100 more stable in hovers

i get on with model and like the model, but it does tend to wonder a little when trying to hover in one position but i am very happy with it and for my first heli i really cant complain. after christmas im gonna look at getting a better transmitter possibly a dx8, reason for this is so i can get used to the transmitter and use it for any new heli's i buy

Is the 100 working with spectrum like the mcpx?
