This usually refers to head dampers/dampners.. they are located each side of the feathering shaft in the rotor head housing. With or without a spacer between them (depends on design of head. Also some feathering shafts have a central ball).
The idea is that the rotation of the head and blades isnlt quite as rigid as one might imaging ..needs a little lead and lag as the rotors move from into wind / with the wind/ across the wind (yeah it;s more complicated but I'm simple) as well as some up and down stresses.
The different damper colours are just a way of coding them and usually manufacturer specific. Damper stiffness is measured in durometers and damper designs vary from simple O-rings to short tube lengths.
Generally the higher the headspeed the stiffer the dampers need to be to stop head nodding also the longer or heavier the blades the stuffer they need to be.
For the sake of completeness: some folk also refer to the skid tube rubbers as dampers. You can also get specific skid/under-carriage dampers (JR and QuicksWorldWide).. they are worth consiering for bigger helis anyway..they fit between the bottom plate and skid-bows.. simple a rubber bush with a thread plate bonded each end.. acts as a simple shock absorber for those rough landings and gives an extra small clearance under the heliPGK

Its the metal bar that goes through the head at 90 deg to the main shaft and normally has bolts on each end holding the blade grips in place.
