Errm, how about a Walkera 2801pro transmitter with a rx2801pro receiver, I've been using them for a couple of years on my heli, never lost signal..ever and the receivers are about £20 and 8 channel, as is the transmitter, it's got a back lit display and is just as easy to program as a dx7.. oh and they're about 100 quid.
