this is funny, a guy asks if the mini pred is a good heli and everyone is saying "no, MY heli is the best in the world" lol
I think for the price, esp compared to a Trex, you cant grumble. most of youz are saying dont get a ford fiesta get a rolls royce and completely missing the point of the thread. my opinion is go for the mini pred and in the meantime save up for a Trex or mini titan.
actually i wouldn't bother with a trex, at that price i'd save a little more and get a much bigger stable heli.
I could not agree more Philimon as most people dont wanna spend £400+ on a heli just for them not to get on with it so for me the mini pred was the option i went .... I looked at others and for money the mini pred was a good deal ....... personally i think they should sell without Tx and let the user choose there own ..... but all in all I enjoy flying helis even tho i aint been at it long and it will keep me in the hobby longer ...... Oh i still like my fixed wings tho lol
good stuff, seems like me you have learned that there is a huge difference between good advice and people just wanting to spec their own machines.
My local model shop stocks the mini pred and although it would be handy for spares, many of you seem to have a bad opinion of this model. Whats the best electric helicopter to get. It will be my 1st real model after a twister bell 47, which is far too easy to fly.
Thanks
how can we be missing the point of the thread? he asks whats the best electric heli'!!!and titled it trex or minipred!!! people have given thier opinions. the trex is waaaaaay better than a pred.easy!
you advise to buy a pred and save for a trex(surely thats £200 pounds more than he needs to spend) just save for the trex.
now before you shout ."trex .trex were all trex mad"...another post points out other alternatives, the dragonus, minititan, etc.
as for go for a larger stable heli that assumes he has somewhere to fly it!!
the trex may not be the best heli in the world but the ones we own usually are if you get my drift
I must admit after owning my mini pred for a while now that I still like the thing and enjoy flying it and theres quite a few at where I fly indoors that have them now as well ...... I agree that the trex is prolly one of the best elec heli's there is but at a price like most things ya get what ya pay for ....... Mini pred is ideal .... yes it does need setting up and they could have done with setting it up a little better at the factory but all in all for the money the machine is nice and stable and bits are cheap and readily available as well .... In the end its each to there own opinion .... I have not flown a trex so can not comment on whether they good or bad i can just comment on the heli's I do own ....
I personally went straight form the blade cx2 to a T-rex SE V2. No regrets so far. The build was mostly painless and the heli hovers far better than in the simulators....what more can you ask! I also know I that at my skills improve I can grow into it.
I was in a model shop and about to buy my first rc heli (twister) and a couple of kids said "i wouldn't buy that, the shop owner was flying it around the other day and kept crashing it" so gotta be careful where you buy from i reckon especially with these rtf models.
