As Steve mentioned, the 9254 is a fullsize servo and too heavy for the litte Trex450.
I use the same DSP receiver without any trouble on my Trex450. However, if your receiver is a PCM receiver, then it could be usable. It depends which one it is as some are quite large. The Futaba PCM 146ip is a good receiver for the 450.

www.servoshop.co.uk is a good source for servos at cheap prices.

LOL, fair play to you.
I'm aware of some people who have done the same, but IMO, the servo is too big - hey, thats why they make small rudder servos innit
Whatever works for you though

The ESC has a governor built in to it, so you won;t need to worry about an extra channel for one on the rex450.
You mentioned that you already had a receiver? If you are buying a new one, and you're not on Spektrum 2.4ghz, I recommend you buy a DSP based receiver, as mentioned previously. They work very well on the rex.
You can go for more than 6 channels too, if necessary?

Cheers,

I ordered the Futaba S3154 (tail servo) £21.98 :-) and the reciever you recommended.

However I have looked on google and those websites given to me by people on this thread and still have been unable to find the Hitec HS56MG. I read somewhere on the internet that they have stoped sailed the Hitec HS56MG. Let me know if you come across a website selling them.

You can either buy the HS65MG, or the HS56HB.
I'd recommend the 65s although they appear to be out of stock currently...
I personally use the HS56HB only because thats what I started out with and they still are working fine (after fitting the occasional new gear set...)

MG = Metal Gears
HB uses Karbonite gears and they actually work very well.
The 65 is a better servo than the 56, but I don;t have issues with the 56s that I use currently.
I keep telling myself that I'll upgrade them to 65MGs when they all die - they just haven't died...

Cheers,

On servoshop, the difference is £4 per servo (65 is more expensive)

It's always best to have a very vast (and preferably quite strong) tail servo.
The cyclic servos can be used, but generally are bettered by these other servos on the tail.

Cheers,
